I am preparing for a gastric sleeve surgery and had this brand recommended to me. I chose to get the Chicken soup Since I had plenty of sweet shakes. Please make sure you cook it properly. Do not let your water get too hot. If the water is too hot, the powder becomes chunky and is awful. I used hot tap water and then very slowly added the powder while stirring constantly. After I mixed the powder slowly, I put the bowl in the microwave in 20 second increments.

This has been the best tasting protein powder that I have had. The only downside is you spend so much money on a big container for it to only be half full when you get it. Other than that, I love love love this product.

I bought this a few days before having surgery and tried it out to see how I would like it. It does taste better than other bone broth I've purchased in the grocery store

Since this is temperature sensitive, I found that 8oz of water placed on high in my microwave for 1 minute actually gave me the perfect temperature. It was warm without clumping after several moments of gentle mixing.

The thing is, since it's warm and not hot, it needs to be consumed within a few short minutes otherwise it turns cold quickly. Pre-op this was not an issue. Now that I am a few days post-op I've made some new observations.

First, my tummy doesn't like it as much as it did. Between that fact and the fact I need to sip, it takes much longer to eat. Several times I wound up with cold broth.

The really good thing about it is, it gives you a savory alternative to hit protein goals besides the sweet protein shakes.

Would I be using this if not needing to gently hit high protein goals? No. Am I glad this is an option to pack in needed protein? Yes.

I'm a savory person, so the sweet powders just don't do it for me and so I don't use them. There are very limited options with a savory meal replacement. Optifast worked, but gets expensive having to go to a doctor to purchase the powder. This is very close to their chicken flavor meal replacements. Just make sure you use only hot tap water. If you use a kettle to heat the water like I did the first time, it becomes clumpy and gross. I have a strong stomach and adventurous palate, and can down just about any food, but I quit after a few sips and threw it out. It was gross. Using only hot tap water kept it liquid. It tastes like a chicken soup broth, so this will work.
