This rod and reel combo arrived on time from the USPS. However when I removed it from the box the rod tip was broken off. I could not find the broken piece in the box so I don't know where the damage was done. Also when I was checking out the reel, one of the paddles on the retrieve mechanism fell off in my hand. I gained access to a screw inside the paddle and reinstalled and tightened and it seems to be working OK. I am very disappointed with the defects the rod and reel had right out of the box. I have already replaced the rod since my grandson was chomping at the bit to go bass fishing and I did not want to go thru the return fiasco and wait for it to be replaced. I might expect problems like this if I had bought it at a yard sale but not from Amazon.
