but the poor quality is readily apparent and Amazon should consider droping ...

This product is absolute junk! In addition to the negative comments made already, let me add a few. First, the bolts that hold the faucet in place were not completely threaded, leading to my first trip to the hardware for bolts. Next, the faucet is not made for the European and Asian market and will require some major adaption to work where 3/8 fittings are the standard. And you won't find a cheep adapter at Home Depot. You will need to some re plumbing. Finally. the hose connectors were so tightly wrapped that the wire mesh was broken. Through a half day of work and using parts off the old faucet, I was able to make it work, but the poor quality is readily apparent and Amazon should consider droping this product.
DO NOT BUY THIS FAUCET for use in the USA

This faucet will not be easy to install, even for someone with plumbing knowledge. The faucet comes with supply lines that will not connect to any water supply shut off valves available in the US. They must be made for European or Asian plumbing. I was able to connect the faucet, but it took extensive searching for fittings that would convert the threads on the supply lines to a thread that would connect to a shut off valve. ALSO, the supply lines are threaded in to the faucet body with a thread that is not compatible to supply lines available in the US. So, you can't remove the supply lines and just change them. DO NOT buy this faucet for use in the US.
Bad advice on a good product

Nice faucet BUT don't try to use it with a shallow sink UNLESS you wish to flood the bathroom. It's a mistake on Amazon's part to show it along with a shallow sink - bad advice on a good product.
Love it! Great beauty for the value.

Amazingly beautiful for the price. Definitely worth the money. The SO is a pipefitter. So I can't say how easy it would be for just anyone to hook up. But he was happy with it and didn't have any trouble.
What an inconvenient little faucet this was

I'm quite novice at plumbing, so perhaps this is all my own fault. I suppose you can judge that. In any case, this cool looking faucet used nonstandard connections. Fine, I went to the hardware store and spent $10-20 on some braided stuff to adapt the line. Then I went to actually connect the thing to the sink and found that it barely didn't fit in the predrilled hole of the ceramic sink. When I tried to shove it on through the thing broke completely, snapping the little pipe that was supposed to be extending below the hole. This was a learning experience, so I went to ikea and got a faucet and installed it in a matter of minutes.
