TOPS Silent Hero knife
Anthony Jones•August 25, 2017
Now THIS is an excellent knife. Great blade geometry. TOPS hit this one out of the park IMHO. Some may have issues with the 'rocky mountain' tread on the handle - it does take some getting used to... (If you have an issue either wear gloves... or wrap it with tennis racket tape.) So far, I haven't had any issue with it... the blade slices, chops, and does bushcraft and camp tasks well... and provides a donation to the folks that help preserve and protect the African animals from poachers. Win-Win... great knife and needed help for some folks that need it.

Great Blade!

I absolutely love this blade. I helped my son skin and cut up a deer. I read a review by a gentleman who's name I can't recall that called the knife a "tactical butcher knife" and that is the best description I have heard concerning this blade. The balance is great, I love the slim handle (even though many say they don't) as it makes the knife very easy to handle when cutting up meat. The blade holds an edge exxtremely well and is relatively easy to keep, the edge hair popping sharp. The leather sheath is well made but the strap that secures the knife is prone to being cut when you return the knife to the sheath. I purchased a custom kydex sheath from Armoursheaths and love the sheath as well.
This is my go to blade and I expect it will be for years to come and then I'll pass it on to one of my boys.

Fantastic knife if you understand its limitations and an utterly crappy sheath.

An incredible knife. Shaving shrap out of the box and maintains its edge after a lot of hard use and fine wood carving. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars are because you can't strike a ferro rod well on the spine, not a fan of the handle scales nor its smallness, and finally as with my criticism of the Tahoma its crappy sheath. It's a high end knife for Tops, it deserves a better sheath. I had to order two custom kydex sheaths for the Tahoma and Silent Hero before I used them.
