After getting a HP laserjet from staples for 50 dollars more, I was concerned at the thin plastic and design of the latest HPs. They just feel like cheap toys. Stumbled across one on sale and it's Way better than he HPs in the same price ranges.

Great mid-grade well-put together plastic, a good 7 pounds heavier than the HP which is a good thing. Connected and worked with my LAN in seconds and works fine with windows 10. Scanning to PC simple, scan to email simple as well. I owned a Xerox Workcentre as a dedicated copier for literally 20 years and I am glad I tried xerox again. At this price it is a steal.

Only complaint and why it gets four stars is I believe the paper tray could have been designed to hold more, but for small to medium offices this is a great machine. It's replacing my fax, copier and mono-printer and saving a ton of room.

I just recently received this unit and I haven't had a lot of time with it. So, my reviews may change. However, this is what I think about this printer as of this date:

1.) It doesn't have the easiest setup, but is in line with similar printers.
The onscreen prompts are not great. They are irritating and not as comprehensive as I would like. Also, the printed instructions are not great. However, you can figure out most of via the "printer webpage." Which allowed me to setup features that seemed impossible on the printer itself. That is easier than what I have experienced in the past.
2.) Save yourself the trouble - use ethernet!
-Setting up a printer via wifi is a pain. A real pain! Setting up a wired printer is easy! If your printer is close enough to your router - then please use ethernet!!!! You will be glad that you did. And yes, you can print via wifi if your printer is wired. It doesn't matter.
3.) Why in the world is printing every time that I turn it on!
- One thing that I have not figured out how to turn off yet is each time I turn it on - it prints a test page. Wasting paper and annoying me. I have yet to figure out how to stop that.
4.) Finally, damn the print outs look great!
-I haven't done much yet with it, but I have to say that I love the quality of the print. It's been so long since I have had a new printer that forgot how beautiful laser printers can be. Even if it is monochrome. It is wonderful! That alone is worth the price of admission. With the scan and fax features on top of it - it's nearly perfect. It's not for everyone. Know what you're getting into before you buy. Then you'll be fine.

I don't know how anyone could reasonably ask for more from a multi-function at this price point.
It's more than fast enough for the type of work it's being purchased for
It comes with a full capacity toner cartridge rather than one of those 20 sheet samplers
Setup is simple, and it has a reasonably comprehensive admin web server built in
It handles AirPrint and Google Cloud Print effortlessly
Print quality is excellent, as it is for just about any laser printer you can buy
Scan to cloud, scan to networked PC, copy - it's got the lot!

I want to like this printer. But the printing options are limited. I cannot control the density of the printing. Worst of all, the Energy Saver kicks in so quickly. I have to hit the power button each time before I print. This is Not good when relying on wi-fi printing. And even after I hit the button it does not always print. I realize that the machine takes a little while to heat up, that's fine. But, it starts up, lights go on, and then within seconds the lights go off. I have to futz with it for long to get one print, it's ridiculous. I am also tired of manuals and troubleshooting that is Not specific to the machine I bought. I would also like to be able to call for help. I expected more from Xerox.

I bought this WorkCentre to replace a 6-year-old multi-function machine that had been run into the ground. I've come to trust Xerox, having also purchased a color laser printer from this company a year ago. It is functioning flawlessly, and on its second set of toner cartridges, due to moderate usage. I'm confident this WorkCentre product will perform equally well. Having used it now for a week, I am completely satisfied with its performance and features, and would not hesitate to recommend it to other users.
