well, it is bitter as expected since it is pure/almost pure chocolate... however, the texture is surprisingly smooth once you get over the bitter taste.. one of the best rated on ConsumerLab with high antioxidant without any heavy metal or harmful ingredients as some other main brand... great for baking too or making your own chocolate coated nuts or whatever you want to make..

I have made brownies with it three times and used stevia and sugar substitutes. It works great. I have also melted it in milk in the microwave and added it to my smoothies. Of course with the Baker's brand, you know that you are getting what you pay for everytime. The quality is always there.

It was not the advertised product. I received 4 boxes of melted chocolate with sugar, not unsweetened. The paper was melted into the chocolate and then frozen so it was unable to be used.

I did not get my baker chocalate bars.
Good product, but bad storage by this company made it a poor choice

I've bought this in the past, but first time from this supplier. The product arrived promptly, but was "whitened" and had an off-taste. All 4 bars had the same issues, and were all well within expiration, so it's a result of poor storage practices by the supplier (likely too cold).
As an unsweetened chocolate, if eaten straight, it is much more susceptible to off tastes from poor storage due to lack of sugar and other flavorings that can mask these issues.
I went to my local food store and bought the SAME bar for a cheaper price--it was a uniform dark color with better taste and texture. Maybe I'll use these bars for baking at some point.
