Perfect size for my 15lb chiweenie. The top door is a bit gimmicky when you are opening and closing it, but it is definitely a useful feature. Cats are so much easier to load and unload from top door carriers. Sturdy. The bolts weren't difficult to screw on like most people have mentioned. Sturdy front metal door held together with the latches and nut&bolts. I understand why people may say the top door can come undone easily if it's not shut properly or if you have an overweight animal in the carrier.

If you follow the assembly instructions this pet carrier is secure and rugged. If you don't, then you will end up with a carrier that falls open and lets your animal out. The fact that you can lower your animal through the top is a god-send. There is no way I can push my cat in through the front door. Also, its not mentioned in the product description, but the carrier also has rings to attach a shoulder strap to. (not included) Nice touch.

Sturdy. Lots of space inside. I am currently using it for my two 4-month old kittens and there's plenty of extra space inside for them to grow into it. I put the 22-inch MidWest Deluxe Bolster Pet Bed inside and it fits like a glove. Assembly is pretty easy. I thought the top door would have stayed attached to the crate but it comes off. I think that has both it's positives and negatives, but it's really easy to put the cats in through the top door since it's a pretty big opening.

I got this carrier for my kitten and it has held up well. It's made from a very sturdy plastic and does not feel flimsy at all, even when I carry it. I didn't put the screws in, but the latches show no sign of being loose or potentially falling open. The flip hatch on the top of the unit works seamlessly and is easy to maneuver. Note: it took me a bit to figure out that to open the hatch without taking the entire piece off, you have to pull one of the metal pieces out and lift that side. Pulling both metal pieces out and lifting will cause the entire top to come off. Overall, I am happy with this carrier.

I love this carrier! The construction is top notch. The list of features goes on and on. The carrier has attachment points for a shoulder strap and even includes bolts to attach the top to the bottom. I know that it has been said that the top plate can come out when a cat of some weight is place in the carrier, but I got this carrier for two kittens - not an adult cat. The Amazon Basics Pet Carrier is exactly what I needed - exactly when I needed it.
