The "best by" date was only two months away from the date I received the shipment. But otherwise, the chocolate is fine.

My grandmother used this bittersweet variety in her pinwheel cookies and it's really hard to find anywhere else. I had to get the 6 pack but didn't use them all. Unfortunately they expire in March of 2018. I wish I'd gotten more than 4 months on the date when I received them.
