They are stronger than I thought they would be. I'm going to use them to make compost tea, seaweed fertilizer and fish amoltion for the garden. I wish they had a draw string
Good product, priced right.

These are great strainer bags for use with paint mahcines. I tie a small knot as far to the bottom as possible and put it in a clean 5 gallon bucket. Then, pour the new paint slowly and carefully through the strainer. If you have loads of chunks and debris, you might want to have someone else hold the strainer since the elastic won't support a lot of weight. I tie the knot at the bottom to keep the bottom of the strainer midway or a little higher in the bucket. This lets my paint tube pick-up from the painting machine go to the bottom of the bucket and not get tangled with the strainer. I do put a small hole in the strainer to get the tube through and the material is light enough to tear it with my thumbnail. These are the best strainers and at a great price and service from Amazon.
Cold Brew Coffee

I use these to cold brew a pound of my home roasted coffee beans. While they work good they are not as fine a bag as the ones you get from Lowes. They are much cheaper though and I can live with that, it just means I have to filter out more. I clean these out, soak in bleach and reuse them about 10 times until the elastic band wears out. I would buy these again.
I recommend stopping whatever you were going to do

The only thing that is disappointing is that some people are using these for something other than brewing beer. If that's you, I recommend stopping whatever you were going to do, and start brewing beer with them. All other uses are lame. Seriously though, these seem to be well made with no tears or holes (aside from all the little ones it is supposed to have). No issues with holding 15 pounds of soaking wet grain (probably around 30 pounds altogether) without any risk of tearing. Good stuff.
Excellent filtering capability

I bought these paint strainer bags to use as filters in my hydroponics system. I placed a strainer bag over the end of the return pipes inside the nutrient reservoir to catch anything that may be in the return line. I used another bag over the water pump to provide additional filtering before the solution enters the pump (it makes certain that filters inside the pump stay clean). If you use a dutch bucket system like I do, place a strainer bag inside of the growing bucket and then add your growing medium. It catches any foreign material and filters the solution before it enters the drain and returns to the reservoir. These strainer bags work great for this purpose as they are strong and won't tear easily. HINT: As a precautionary measure, wash the bags before you use them in your hydroponics system to make sure that no residual manufacturing chemicals are present. Oh, and I actually used one of the bags to filter the lumps out of paint and it worked great (go figure, huh?). Highly recommended. Great product.
