Made my rugs even worse!

I bought new rugs and after a few weeks the edges were starting to curl up. I saw these corners online and decided to give them a try since they got great reviews. I should have known they would be more of a problem then leaving the rug when the corners arrived already curled slightly upward. I thought they would flatten out and attached all 8 corners to my rugs. After less than a week the rugs are peeling up from the sticky corner and they are curled up more than ever before (see attached pictures). I thought I would just take off the corner and leave the rug, but now all the edges are covered in sticky glue that will get all over my floors if I take off the corners. My rugs look worse and I don't know how to make them better.

Ordered these to insure the area rug I just bought doesn't roll up when my brother wheels over it in his walker.
I was surprised at how thick these are (not a bad thing, just an observation).
I had anticipated something much thinner, which probably wouldn't work as well as they give the carpet stability and weight from underneath.
My only dilemma was that I ordered a carpet pad the same size as my rug so that left little space around the corners for these to sit flush onto the floor.
Depending on how they hold up to the walker, I may need to trim the pad back just a little to insure the carpet doesn't get caught when the walker rolls over it.
These were easy to apply and I love the fact that nothing is mounted/sticking to the floor.
So, if I want to move the carpets position I can do so without leaving anything stuck to the floor.

I bought a rug off Amazon which meant it shipped rolled up. I have a roll of double sided carpet tape but it sticks so hard to the hardwood floor. Trying to remove the tape if it's been down too long removes the finish. I used the tape for a few days, then ordered these and I like them much better. They hold down the rug just with a little weighted corner wedge and only sticks to the rugs. This holds down the rugs but allows a little movement or shifting that the tape won't.

I FINALLY found a rug gripper that sticks to my rug and not my floor! Its boomerang shape adheres securely to my carpet allowing the carpet NOT to curl, it just lays flat. Flat on the floor can you imagine that! No more worrying about how to clean under the rug, because it lifts with ease. No more worrying about the adhesive no longer working because the adhesive is on the carpet and not the floor. And dig this, the package was hand delivered at my front door! If you're worried about dangerous curled rug corners, worry no more because this works superbly. But if you're looking for something to glue in place so that your rug doesn't move, let me just say,, I've been there done that and it was hugely a short-lived hot mess! This item is excellent for keeping the corners from curling up.

I am SO glad I discovered these! I only have a few rugs in my house, but it is amazing how often those darn corners want to curl up. (One rug I suspect is possessed... but that's another story.) Anyway, these just WORK. No rocket science here, folks. The attachments stick firmly to the corners of your rug and weigh it down just enough to prevent it from curling.
PLEASE NOTE: These do NOT "anchor" your rug to the floor. They solve the problem of rug curling, but they are not designed to prevent rugs from scooting across the floor. There IS another product that helps with that, though, made by the same company:
