This works great as long as it's plugged into a wall

This works great as long as it's plugged into a wall.. doesn't have much if any power when battery operated.
I would plan to use this with an extension cord if you want to use it out in the yard.
happy puppy

My pup goes crazy for the ifetch but hasn't figured out that she has to drop the ball into the hole to play with herself so she just yaps at me to drop the ball in. 4 stars because the trajectory and strength varies each time we play with it. Brand new batteries and same setting. Hope this lasts.
Not that they don't love to play ball they just prefer the old fashion ...

I have to say this was a hit right out of the box with my Yorkie mix about a year old. She sometimes even snuggles with it when it is turned off. As soon as the ball hits the shoot it sends out a high pitch sounds and no matter were she is in the house she knows her ball machine is running. We have had it about a month and she is not playing with it herself but soon very soon, she just loves it that much. Now I will say I also have 2 Shih Tzu's (about 7 years old) and they find the machine a bit too fast. Not that they don't love to play ball they just prefer the old fashion way of a good slow toss. So one out of 3 dogs is a fan, but in our case our Bella is our youngest and the very hardest to keep entertained. So I say a complete hit!
Think of it as another trick to teach your dog.

Bought this at Christmas time for my Shih Tzu. He loves running after the balls after launched but keeps looking for us to put the balls in the machine. When he catches the ball and comes back with it he goes out of his way to avoid walking by the machine, lol. It takes patience and practice to get him to do it himself, which he has done a few times. Think of it as another trick to teach your dog. I only gave this 4 stars because the balls are already starting to shed and fur up after he bites and chews on them.
Neat toy

My puppy loves to fetch balls, so I thought this would be a great item to have. It works fine, tossing the ball at three different intervals which you select. I have it tossing at 10 feet, which is perfect for inside my kitchen area. And while my pup figured out quickly how to drop the ball into the unit, she preferred to hold on to the ball and wait for me to insist she drop it. Damn that human interaction thing! The size of the ball is perfect for my dog to run around with, so she often ignores the iFetch completely once she has the ball in her mouth. Overall, I do recommend this item for anyone who has a dog that enjoys fetching. There are times that the ball will get stuck, or the unit will not toss correctly; however, I can always unstick it or get it working again without a problem.
