I just moved from a 3br house with a large backyard to a 700sq ft apartment. I have 4 cats that were allowed the run of the whole house and are in much smaller digs. I'm trying to make the apt and patio as cat friendly as I can, so I ordered two pieces of this artificial turf. I absolutely love it. It feels so natural...soft to bare feet too! The cats love it so much, I ordered 2 more pieces. This should cover most of the cement patio. For me, it was a great buy...and since my cats use a litter box, I shouldn't have any odor issues! Love it and I did order it again!
Do not buy if you have a mouthy puppy. Better suited for older dogs

I really wish this worked out for our house.
Product seemed great, our dog LOVED it and was easy to place in our yard, but then he loved it too much.
Big negative: The grass pulls out quite easily if a dog is chewing on it. We didn't notice parts missing or anything until we had to rush our 8 month old puppy to the ER one night. He was coughing a lot with nothing coming up, not eating, and didn't poop for two days. They did an x-ray, saw some cloudiness inside and induced puking for our 8 month old frenchie. He puked up a huge amount of this grass. HUGE. like the size of a grapefruit. $1300 later, we very much wished we never bought this grass.
May be better suited for older dogs, as the 2 star rating. It was all good until then, but I definitely wouldn't buy this for any type of mouthy puppy or dog.

Perfect for townhouse with very little sunlight. Tried grass seeds and sod, everything died from low sunlight and excess water from neighboring yards. This looks very real with the thatch. Cheaper per SF than warehouse pricing. Installed 450 SF in one afternoon. Rented a compactor to get a solid sand/gravel base. Cuts easily with box cutter. Does need to be flattened as it arrives in rolls - leaving in direct sunlight for 30 mins flattened and made easier to trim. There is definitely a grain, so need to plan very carefully. Had to order three different sizes to minimize waste, but all coloring matched. Best benefit is no more mud in the house. Dog had no problem figuring out how to get down to business.

So I needed to find a small patch of artificial grass that was as true to life as possible for a porch potty my fiance and I were making for our new puppy. We went to Lowes and they would only sell it by like 10x15 ft pieces which was way too big. We ended up on trusty old Amazon and I stumbled upon this. I ordered the 40x 28 inch one and trimmed a couple inches off for our project. The 4 different shades of grass blades really makes it look authentic. Our 13 week old half Cavalier Spaniel/ half Cocker Spaniel took to it by her second day home with us and has used it even since. She hasn't learned to go outside on the real grass yet though, so we are working on that!
Update: This grass really is a great purchase and looks awesome however for our use it ended up not being the best because the grass blades would lay flat and our puppies potty would pool up on it not being able to drain out as intended into her porch potty causing her to walk in her own potty and track it through our house/on our couch etc, smelled awful and we had to get rid of our couch. Anyways I had tried raking the grass upright everyday so that it could drain properly but it got tiering so we ended up throwing it away and replacing it with a metal material that the potty can go straight through now. I do miss the look of the grass though!

I have always wanted my own dog training area but my old property was small and the ground was soggy, also I know that the neighbors would not have approved of artificial turf. So I moved to a drier place and lo and behold there's a disused but sizeable side yard. The blessing was given to create doggy paradise. I researched surfaces from gravel to sand to bark and none of those options were a great idea because besides sun and heat, my property also has lots of wind. I mean so much wind that I have been looking at buying a windmill kit because I'd have no problems tinkering with it here. Anyhow I needed something that was going to help cut down on dust, provide good footing for an elderly dog and be more powerful than a young dog when my old dog is gone. So I settled on this product. I ordered 4 of the 10 x 6.5 ft rolls. I could have ordered the large roll but I am not a young person, I don't have help to make my dream come true so I needed my turf in manageable pieces, so I also purchased some seaming tape to hold it together. In preparation I raked, dug, filled and swept the yard as smooth as possible. They arrived ahead of schedule economically wrapped in some tarp-like plastic outside and shrink wrap inside. It was easy to free my turf with a box knife. I have lined up the grass in the side yard and it is now resting overnight to hopefully relax out the curve of the roll it came in. The product does smell strongly so I recommend storing it outside because if you are a little sensitive you'll get a headache. Unlike some of the reviews here I did not find that the grass shed that much. It is also a bit darker and shinier than in the pictures but not so much so that it looks overwhelmingly fake. I also suspect that natural wear will cause it to look more natural over time. Update: All finished and looks great (see picture). My dog willingly does his business on it, the pee does drain off and it's easy to get the poop off.
