Good substitute for a lost lid

While cooking at my mom's house, I realized the lid for her large pot and skillet was missing. After reading reviews, I bought this silicone replacement. I expected it to be a little thicker and heavier, but it worked OK. It's not so great if you need to set it off-center to allow steam to escape from the pot, but overall, the suction seal is adequate and the cover doesn't fall into the pot, which was enough for me.

I have purchased the GIR lid in two sizes and find them very useful for covering dishes in the microwave, from warming a cup of soup to steaming a serving of vegetables. The lid should be large enough to overlap the container top by about a half inch on all sides so that it will stay snugly seated on the rim of the dish. Great for covering glass containers with snap on lids that are not supposed to be used in the microwave.
