Great Product Specially for Grow Room

I was looking for a thermometer and hygrometer for my grow room and came across this one. I like the fact that it has a probe so i can always know the temperature of the soil or a specific area and compare it with the temperature of the area immediately close to the unit. The readout seems to be accurate and changes as the temperature changes without any delay. The unit can be changes that was expected as most of the thermometers not give that option. This unit is flat so it is perfect for attaching it to the wall. In my case I was looking for one that didn't have a light so when the grow room light is off the device light won't disturb the plants sleep cycle. The instruction was easy to read.

The unit is much larger than I expected, but the large digits make it easy to read from across the room. Accuracy is about as expected for a low cost unit. It measures for temp within about 1.5 F of my other measuring devices, but is okay for the intended purpose. I use the outside temp probe to measure the supply air temp from my A/C heat pump supply ducts to check the differential between intake and supply of the system as a way to check for normal operation.
Convenient for relative readings, don't count on high accuracy

I compared with several other electronic thermometers and found that they only agree with each other within a few degrees. And the indoor and outdoor readings don't agree even when the outdoor sensor is right next to the unit inside the room.
These are best used for relative comparisons, one day to the next. Not to make measurements you can compare with the weather forecast or any other instrument.
That said, this is a compact, easy to read package that works well in my bedroom. I like having the wired external sensor, with a nice long connecting wire. I'm hoping this will be more reliable than the wireless indoor/outdoor thermometers. Time will tell.

This unit is larger and heavier than the ones that cost a dollar or two less. For that you get a unit that hangs vertically on the wall without being pulled off kilter by the weight of its thermal probe wire or falling over on the shelf with a slight touch; it has buttons that are large enough to press when wearing gloves (I have mine in an unheated building just for the min/max function); the numerals are large; and the buttons are all on the front so you don't have to fool around turning it over to set the temp units. I am very pleased with this item, having had several of the smaller ones and finding them to have the problems mentioned above.

I used to get the remote thermometers and they would fail within days. Then I got a plain thermometer and set it outside. I'd have to open the door and try to see what the iced up temperature read. This one is perfect. I feed the probe through my window and I can easily read what it says. Less to malfunction on this one, numbers are big and it tells me the humidity.
