We were experiencing odd Internet connectivity issues at home but the router seemed to still work after many different troubleshooting steps in trying to isolate the cause. In the end, I realized that the one thing I had not thought of was the decently old (4-5 years maybe?) Ethernet cable that connected our modem and router together. Well, maybe it was just upgrading to the latest CAT7 standard or the old cable went bad, but our intermittent Wi-Fi Internet issues seem to be gone. The only factor that changed since the much better performance is the Ethernet cable change, and I'm very happy to report that this cable feels very strong and well-built. My only wish is that it would have been nice to have a 4ft option, as 3ft *barely* made it and 6ft would have been too long.

Amazing! I travel for work and have lots of meetings so two network cables (long and short...you never know how far a port will be!) in my backpack. It was annoying cause wrapping and tie them constantly over time was causing them to fray and break down. In a meeting in India of all places a guy said to me you know you should really get a retractable one of those and my mind was blown! I never knew such a thing existed! It's silly how happy this thing makes me but it's beyond worth it. I even picked up a retracble HDMI cable too so that I can connect to displays without having to be right up on it...life is good!

HEED THIS WARNING AND CHECK THESE CABLES IF YOU ALREADY PURCHASED THEM.

I purchased 5 or 6 of these cables of different lengths and colors from Amazon, because they appeared to be well made. Then I noticed that a Roku and other devices were intermittently dropping the network connection. The cause was easy to find -- it is the worthless RJ45 connectors on these cables. To those who have given these POS cables positive reviews, all you need to do is to very slightly jiggle the cables at the connection end. On a good switch or router such as Netgear, you can see the activity light go on and off. Roku will simultaneously report the loss of a network connection. I then compared these cables to el cheapo CAT 5 cables I had, as well the Amazon Basic CAT 7 cables. None of those cables with their RJ45 connectors exhibited the same problem. Moving or jiggling the cables had no effect on the network connection.

If your ethernet cables never get moved in the slightest, these might work OK for you. But if they are part of a computer or AV cabinet or setup where they might be moved, even slightly, then these cables are complete losers. Test yours, and when you find they're defective, send them back to Amazon. Or throw them in the trash, which is the only place that these cables belong.

Then buy the Amazon Basic CAT7 cable, which is well made and the RJ45 connectors have a rock solid connection.

UPDATE: I cut the end off of one of these cables as well as the Amazon Basic CAT 7 cable and stripped off the plastic to see how well shielded they are. Both cables have shielding around each wire. But the Terra Grand has only a single layer of the braided or woven insulation around the individual wires. The Amazon cable has double insulation. It has a layer of the foil around all of the wires, and then also a layer of braided or woven copper insulation around that.

The Amazon cable is simply superior. The RJ45 connectors work just fine, and the level of insulation is superior to Tera Grand.

LOVE IT! We had been having problems with our internet going down constantly, and we have high speed fiber optic internet, plus we have a brand new, highly rated, multi-channel router and we were wondering why we kept loosing the connection. Well, it seems it was our "cable" connection to to the wall. We haven't had an issue since we got this! I would definitely recommend getting one of these if you've tried everything else.

I've been "upgrading" my home network and wanted some newer network cables to handle the data speeds for video streaming. I went to the CAT7 so I don't have to deal with questioning the data capacity of the network cables and connections as I acquire the newer technologies in routers, Blu-Ray players, 4K TV's, et al. While there are very limited ways to test the actual performance capacity, this cable is working very well as far as I can tell. Very solid, snap-in connectors - nothing flimsy, loose or shaky. Definitely put these on your list of choices when you decide to buy new cables.
