Overall, very easy
ErinJanuary 7, 2018
The instructions took a few minutes to understand what exactly was needed.

Overall, pretty easy to install our 53 inch TV. I installed this mount to the wooden studs in the wall.

I made a paper template of my TV to tape to the wall until I had the TV exactly right.

Once I have the template in place, I easily drilled the mount to the wall.

The TV portion I added to the back of the TV while the TV was on my couch.

Once the TV portion was all fastened, I picked up the TV and hung on the TV mount.

No too difficult. After the TV was hung on the mount, I was able to make adjustments to the tilt and leveling out the TV.
Good mount, needs a TEMPLATE

We bought two different brands of TV mounts and installed them on the same day. We did the other brand first. I have to say, that one was easier! They provided a cardstock template which took all the guess work out of drilling the holes. With this mount, we had to hold this heavy mount in place, try to make sure it's level, and then mark the holes with a pencil. As others have mentioned, the instructions are all in picture format, so overall the install could use some improvement.

As for the rest, it holds our TV, and does so well! I'm glad I noticed my TV mounts are actually on the LOWER HALF of the TV or I would have ended up with a really low install (this could also be an included instruction on the mount).

I wasn't sure we'd need a full articulating mount but the TV was going on a wall that gets some sun. It turns out we don't need to tilt or angle it, but being able to pull the TV out from the wall to work behind it is a real bonus! I'd recommend this sturdy and affordable mount for that any day.

One thing we didn't like is that the tilt bracket runs right into the wall through the open back of the mount. Not wanting it to punch through the drywall, we added small bumpers to the wall there. It makes for a nice, soft finish as you push it back into the wall.

Unexpected plus: my husband liked the cord guides. We thought they were silly at first but they actually work pretty well! All the plastic seemed cheesy but it makes for a nice finished look.

Other plus with this brand: the holes for the screws are actually slots so there's a little wiggle room if your studs aren't exactly 16" on center.
A solid buy!

Everything about this mount is great. It even comes with lag bolts to mount it to the wall. I didn't notice it before I bought it but the mount arms have plastic covers on it that hold the tv wires. A nice added feature.

Now for installation. The instructions are very vague. Also, the hardware is all metric and not standard. You need a metric socket for the lag bolts. The biggest issue is finding the right spot to mount it on the wall. Once you find the studs I would recommend attaching the mount to the tv and get some help to hold it up so you can find the correct height you want the tv to be. Then you can mark the holes to drill and remove the mount from the tv. It will take 2 people to attach it to the mount as it's hard to find the hole. Make sure it's on it securely. I attached mine and noticed it was on on one side and barely on the other side. That would've been bad if the tv fell. Especially if you have a 4K tv.

The mount is worth every penny. It's very solid and you won't have any sagging issues some people have with other mounts because of the weight of the tv.
Great TV Mount

This is a great TV mount, with a good design, offered at a very nice price. I've installed several mounts over the years for my own TVs, and as a part of cabinets for my clients, and its design, sturdiness, and finish compares very well, being second-to-none. The snap-off/on covers that hide the attachment bolts, as well as the snap-off/on cable management channels, make for a beautifully neat and highly-functional installation.

The only "complaint" that I have with the design is that the screws used to lock the TV's rotation (and prevent the TV from being lifted off of the mount), and the screws used to lock the tilt into place, are both somewhat "hidden" and look like all of the other screws (black), such that without the directions it isn't at all obvious which screws should be loosened/removed to alter the position of the TV. This is especially true for the rotation/lift-off locking screws. Don't get me wrong, the directions themselves are the typical modern-day hieroglyphics (at least these have a few English words in case you're not as good as Carter in deciphering pictographs!), but in this case are clear enough that installation was a breeze -- what I'm concerned about is remembering how to take it apart in a few years when a TV needs to be removed for some reason. I have kept the directions in a drawer right near the TV, but we all know how easily those things get lost in the fog of time. My advise would be to use some paint or nail polish to put a dot of color on the head of the screws used to lock down adjustments, so that the screws are a bit more obvious in the future.

I would not hesitate to use/recommend this TV mount again the future, just remembering to keep the directions as a part of the installation.
The fact that they give you the lag screws is better than some other mounts
FairTax pusherFebruary 11, 2017
Instructions were mostly pictures. Minimal tools required since a little wrench and level are included. You need: #2 phillips screwdriver, a drill and a 5/32" drill bit (who has a 4mm bit?) for installing in wood stud walls, 12mm socket for the included lag screws. The fact that they give you the lag screws is better than some other mounts. I have included a few photos.

I laughed at the review where the installer did not know that you can take off the part that attaches to the TV from the part that attaches to the wall.
