I bought another highly rated TENS unit on Amazon, but rarely used it because it was so difficult to see the screen (tiny and gray, low contrast) and navigating the menu was difficult and confusing. I got this one because of the screen. Large, simple, easy to read. I use it every day. I made the mistake of thinking it was broken when the unit wouldn't respond and seemed stuck. I almost threw it out, but it turned out that this is what happens when the pads lose their connection and/or adhesive. I think it can also happen if batteries are low. I have had this happen several times and ALWAYS the unit works perfectly after I change the pads. This machine is so good and like no other I have found that I was even going to purchase the same thing despite annoyance at it "breaking".......

(Forgot to submit because I hadn't quite finished.)
Anyway, I have 2 units which both seemed to quit on the same day (I usually keep one in my purse for backup). I called iReliev - BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! - and Mike figured out it was probably the wires (makes sense if both units quit on the same day!) He then spent a good amount of his time figuring up weight and contacting Fed Ex to find out how much it would cost to overnight. I will be sitting (sitting = pain) almost all day Saturday and really need them before that. He also made a great suggestion when I asked about sending another unit overnight just to be on the safe side.

Still use this almost daily, but usually only 2-5 hours at a time. I have 3 now. One stays in my car, one at a loved one's home, and one either "on" my hips or on my dresser.
For the first 2 years, I would drop the unit ~ 5-10 times/week. I never kept them clipped on, and when I would get up off the sofa, the wires would drag the unit and it would fall on the floor. The back would pop off, but the units still worked. One unit finally quit working on one side only. I purchased the last one in 2019, and wear them almost every single day! I still don't use the clip that comes with it, but I usually remember to grab the unit before it falls. I only drop it about once a month now. I can't believe they still work!!!
The only con I would have is something that's completely my fault. To start, I have sensitive skin. The pads are fine unless I sweat and neglect to clean off the area before putting on the pads. Then I get sores on my hips.
I cannot recommend these highly enough. I've spoken to so many people who have said they've tried it already, but they only tried it for a short while. I usually use it for at least 2 hours. It seems to help even more the longer I have it on. I also use it a night if I can't fall asleep due to a lot of pain,
I actually place the pads exactly where my pain is, one on each hip. It says to place it on either side of the pain, but the "buzzing" ON my pain works for me. Try different things out. I can't speak highly enough of this as an aid to pain, in addition to or in place of pain medication.
