Ripped after taking it out of the packaging

Just took the hat out of the bag, and put it on and the rim ripped. The rest of the hat seems to be very durable, so maybe the part that tore was just a weak spot? Not sure, but I'm pretty displeased right now.

The material is thicker than I thought it would be and the wire in the brim helps it stay where I want it to be. And the best part about this hat is, No bow or frilly thing on it. I can add my own stuff on it to match how I'm dressing for the day or I can wear it plain. Not just a beach hat, it's my new everyday hat.
I'm thinking of buy one of each color.

keeps the sun off face and neck, folds, can remove bow if you want, as it's just glued on, but some transparent glue may be hard to get off the hat.

I ended up returning this hat. There is a wire around the edge of the brim for shaping, but when I received it the wire was kind of mangled and I was unable to get the hat shaped the way I wanted it. It was a nice hat but didn't work for me.
