Sturdy stool for playing double bass

I ordered this because using a bar stool playing double bass in the pit of a local theater musical production was literally a pain in the rear.
The stool arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It was easy to assemble and is very sturdy (easily handles my 270 pounds). The seat is fairly easy to adjust, just be careful not to over-tighten the back bolt. The back rest is easy to adjust and at its lowest setting makes a good lumbar support. The footrest is a little loose, but that's pretty minor. My only real complaint is that the seat padding has compressed in the front after 6 performances.
The stool allowed me to play for 1 1/2 hours without being able to stand without a lot of discomfort. I'm satisfied!

I love the concept of this chair

I love the concept of this chair. I initially purchased it as a practice chair. It's good for playing but only for about an hour or so. The seat is very hard and quite uncomfortable after 2 hours. The vinyl covering the foam is very loose and it seems to be too large for the foam. It has a slew of adjustments on it though for different body shapes so that is a positive. You will need to keep a couple of wrenches handy if you are going to be adjusting it or moving it in anything smaller than an SUV or a van. There are rubber guards on the foot rest that slide right off. I wouldn't count on having those very long if you are using this chair to gig with. It's very sturdy and made out of steel. This gives it a very solid feeling and I'm sure it will last a lot longer than many others. The price for that it is on the heavy side. At 27 pounds it could be an issue moving it around.

you get what you pay for. cheap so I really can not complain as if I bought the chair for 400 bucks. foot rests are a joke, can not use them. uncomfortable for a long period. not really adjustable only at assembly. so once it is put together that is where it will always be assembled. if you want a low end chair and only will use it an hour a day this will fit the bill.

I do like the stool, however, I thought the entire stool would collapse down for easier transport. I play at different venues and was hoping for something a little more portable.
I thought the back should be able to go back just a little more. I did move it so it was higher which did move it a bit further back, but I do like to have the back support a little lower.
I though the seat cushion could be a little bit softer, but I know you need to make it sturdy for sitting for long periods of time.
This will have to stay in my basement for playing with friends instead of a chair.

Needed Work - What can you expect from something Made in China
The back leg was slightly bent causing the chair to rock. Pyle said they could fix or replace it but I would have to pay to ship it to them and, since the purchase was over 30 days ago (bought 11/28, but not opened until 12/25 and not set up until the 28th) I would have to send an additional $30 to cover shipping back to me. If shipping to them was also $30, then I'd be paying $60 to repair something I just got for about $90. Didnt' seem prudent. I was able to remove most of the bend and eliminate the rocking when I'm sitting on it.
