For the cost I feel it is cheaply made. It is plastic and could easily break if dropped. Since this product will probably be used by us older people, it would be so much better to have an easier battery compartment to open and close. I have hearing aids but they are like a brain overload when I wear them due to background noise. When I put the Pockettalker on I no longer can hear my tinnitus (I have ringing, roaring and pulsatile) and I can hear so much better. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to hear better when going out in public--or at home.

Husband uses this primarily for TV and it helps him hear better. He has hearing aids, but thinks this is better. There is a cord involved, so if tripping is an issue, think of that. There are "rules" also with a pacemaker...at least his; so check into that if you need to. Overall, has been a good, helpful item. (He does use only the headphones and I thought he would prefer the ear buds,, so I had gotten both.)

I can hear and understand calls on my cellphone when using the Pocket talker too. It has both a lanyard and clip to secure it to my clothing or hang on my neck. The headphones are great and work on both sides but if I want to use my own wireless system while watching tv it only delivers sound to one side because it's a mono not stereo signal. I highly recommend this Pocket Talker personal amplifier system because it really helps us hearing impaired be able to conjugate the sounds by adding clarity instead of just raising the volume. â˜ºï¸ I use it with my hearing aids. My mom is almost 94 years old and has had terrible hearing for the past several years. She had hearing aids but because of dementia, she kept losing them. When I took her to an audiologist, he suggested this device. It has a lightweight headset with a handheld microphone to talk into. The volume can be adjusted to communicate with the hard-of-hearing individual. It works great for us. Communication is now possible. It only cost around $l00 as opposed to a $2,000 hearing aid. It is an answer to prayer. It may not work for everyone (not all hearing loss is the same), but it certainly works for us.
