Its decent material and a decent price. However it has some issues. It tends to fray apart, even when cut with a sharp implement. When it frays, the fibers get into the water column and fish can try to eat them. Also, even after rinsing this for 15 minutes, it clouded the water up within 30 seconds! Took it about 3 or 4 hours to clear up.

Quite possibly the best pond filter out there. The other 'blue' filters I've used fall apart after one use, this can be rinsed with a water hose over and over.
