I read reviews on every site I could find relative to "cool gel" mattresses. I am a hot sleeper and really have trouble staying cool all night. While this mattress is cooler than the tempurpedic brand, it's not cool. A better description would be "cooler than tempurpedic and most other foam mattresses". It might be ok for some, but it is too warm for me. If it is possible, try it before you buy it.

It's also harder than I like. My last mattress was a medium Kingsdown and was much more comfortable than my 10.5" Classic Brands. I kept it thinking it would break in, but it hasn't. I have added an additional cool foam topper, but I'm still not happy. 😕

I wish I had of bought the 14.5" cool gel for comfort AND coolness. I bought a high end base and it was delivered two weeks behind the mattress so I missed the window to return the mattress.

Now, I do like the "Classic Brands" mattresses for the following reasons: It was delivered in perfect condition and ahead of schedule. UPS left it on my front porch. The quality of the cover and mattress is very nice. You can sit on the edge of the mattress without it collapsing causing you to slide off the bed. The foam is quick to "recover" when you move or get out of bed. I have had no problem with "chemical odor" or any other smell from the time I unwrapped the mattress. You will probably need help moving the mattress inside and putting it on the bed.

I wish I had of ordered the thickest "Classic Brands Cool Gel" mattress regardless of the bed's height once it was on the base. I think it would have been what I wanted even though I would have needed a step to get into bed.

This is the best mattress I've ever slept on! It is cool, affordable, supportive, and extremely comfortable. Due to the gel it does not retain heat like typical memory foam mattresses. I used to have terrible aches, but don't at all anymore. I would rate it as a 6 on the firmness scale (1 being very plush, 10 being very firm), which is perfect for me. It is extremely supportive but still soft. This mattress has given me the best sleep I've ever had, it is such an excellent product, I highly recommend it. My only complaint is the price on the Classic Brand mattresses change constantly, and typically jump higher. Originally this one (10.5 inch, king) was posted for $260, then jumped to $490. I ended up waiting for the price to go down at least a bit and paid $370. Still a great deal though. If you're like me, you did a bunch of research but still had a hard time making a decision. Don't hesitate on this as your final choice. I'm so glad I ordered this mattress, and I'm sure you'll feel the same. Easy five stars!

Well my bed has been up for over a week now. Purchased this mattress to go with my adjustable bed.This is awesome, YES I SAID AWESOME!!

So yes as preciously stated, I have a BAD BACK! Major name brand places told me, as have doctors, to go with a foam mattress, which I am totally in agreement with! I bought the gel for a reason. As the amazing knowledge manager at the large name brand store said, we heat up at night while sleeping. This draws the heat out.
I felt the coolness when I tested in the store and I have to admit it at some points for very cool to me. I would advise that you do go to a store and try the mattresses out to figure out what maybeork best for you. It may take you more than that split deck to to get a real feel for this as some feel they are sinking into it. I can say I went with an open mind and felt it was yes I sink in a little, but after using it in home feel joe it really has made a difference. At points it seems to "change" how it conforms to my back etc. it sometimes will go up or down, which I am assuming is what they meant that it adjust and releases the pressure off your body.
Had it been the miracle cure, NO, but I am truly glad I gave it a try along with the adjustable bed and they work great together. If I over did something I can adjust the bed so I don't strain to get out or I can leave it flat and just enjoy the mattress as is.

One of the reasons I chose this bed was for the "CertiPUR-US certified" description in their ad, which means it is made without flame retardants, ozone depleters etc. However the mattress arrived today and there is a (required) tag on it stating it meets the requirements of the California Bureau of Home Furnishings Technical Bulletin 603. TR603 MANDATES that fire retardants be added to the furniture.

After contacting the manufacturer, here is the response I received about the flame retardants used:

"We use this glass fiber between the foam and mattress cover.The glass fibers are made of various types of glass depending upon the fiberglass use. These glasses all contain silica or silicate, with varying amounts of oxides of calcium, magnesium, and sometimes boron. To be used in fiberglass, glass fibers have to be made with very low levels of defects. "

Hope this helps for anyone concerned about the flame retardants used. Wish this was included in the ad description!

Wrote about the stain on this supposed NEW mattress 2 weeks ago and haven't heard boo hoo back. What's up with this?
