This works better than expected. I needed a device that could connect my Sega Dreamcast, Super Nes, Turbo Grafx 16, N64 consoles to my HDTV HDTV, and this works better than expected using Svideo conversion. 720p, or 1080p looks pretty good, very happy with this device. Highly recommend this...

Overall this product works great at taking a composite and/or S-Video signal from older game consoles such as the NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, GameCube, etc. and converting & upscaling their video and audio outputs to HDMI to use with modern televisions while improving the picture quality, especially with those that support S-Video output. Little details are no longer lost in a muddy mess and colors pop much more accurately to the source content. Squinting to try and read small text is also no longer required in the games I've tested.

I have tested it across multiple televisions and a projector with mostly positive results as far as color accuracy, brightness and black level is concerned, and although I experienced some issue with certain games and tv's, it would not stop me from using this converter based on the ease of use and otherwise improvement to the picture quality it provides.

If you need to play old games or content that uses S-Video or Composite connections on a modern HDMI television this product is something you should definitely consider checking out.

Works as advertised - eliminated a lot of electronic clutter, and solved a big problem - most A/V receivers don't pass analog incoming audio signals (old video camera in my case) through to the HDMI-OUT of the A/V receiver (though it does pass the video). In a traditional home theater application, this wouldn't be a problem. However, my audio is sent to my TV, and then output to my Sonos soundbar via the TV's optical-out. I needed to set-up a 10-year-old A/V receiver (with speakers) in order to grab the S-video output of the old video camera. (This receiver was of the vintage that it also had HDMI-Out.) I spent hours researching why the audio didn't make it to the TV (via the HDMI-Out), and finally figured out that few - if any - A/V receivers did that. This device now allows me to eliminate the bulky A/V receiver and speakers which otherwise were necessary in order to watch old family movies from an old video camera.

Device is well built and satisfied my need to keep my older technology HT equipment (Laser Disc) in service.

I needed a better than Composite Video signal for my DVD Recorder. My previous Comcast Cable Box had and S-Video output, but the new one I got with their X-1 Platform had only HDMI and Composite Video outputs. I found that input to my DVD recorder needed the S-Video signal and this box provided exactly what I needed. I ordered an HDMI splitter with this unit and the 2 worked exactly as I expected.
