I have wide feet. Where I work, everyone who has wide feet wears New Balance sneakers, as they make an excellent wide gym shoe. So if you know your exact size (and width), and buy the same make (New Balance), you can be guaranteed they will fit every time. There is no need to waste time running around stores trying on shoes. Amazon will continually beat anyone else on price. I have been buying these New Balance gym shoes from Amazon for over ten years now. I got two pairs this last time on sale. Come to thin of it, I should have bought four pairs. I think I paid about 2 dollars more than I paid for one pair, when not on sale. The best part is, Amazon lets you know when they are on sale. All you have to do is pay attention to your emails.

It is my goal to never buy these sneakers anywhere but Amazon. The savings in time and money makes it a no-brainer.

WHAT IS UP with NEW BALANCE?! Every year the 623's get worse and WORSE! If its not size discrepancies, its build / material quality. And quality control seems to be vitually non existent. I used to buy these religiously every 2 years (have 2E wide feet with orthotics) and these were the only shoes that fit the bill. Not no more they don't! During this last purchase one shoe was actually tighter than the other (despite buying a size larger after reading the reviews) and the toe box is INSANELY tight. (And this was all BEFORE inserting the othotics!) I was so disappointed when I had to send them back, since this is really the only sneaker that fits all my foot needs... well they USED to anyway. Now begins the search for a replacement. :(

I have been wearing New Balance for many years. Never had a problem. The inserts are removable which is one reason I buy them as I use custom orthotics. Took me a month to decide between the 623 and 624. ( I have previously bought both) Both are pretty much the same but saved a few $ and went with the 623. Buying a new pair of NB is like trading in a worn out car. Just have to settle on the color and style variations. Unlike others, I have not noticed any change in quality.

UPDATE: AUGUST 3, 2017. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE SOLE AND INNER PART OF THE SHOES ARE SEPERATING. SOMETIMES WHEN I WALK IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS AN AIR POCKET OR THAT I HAVE STEPPED ON A LOOSE FLOOR TILE. EITHER WAY, I NOW BELIEVE WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID. NEW BALANCE QUALITY HAS GONE DOWNHILL. WILL HAVE TO LOOK FOR NEW SHOES

This is my second pair of NB 623s that I've purchased. My first pair was purchased over 1 year ago and were extremely comfortable as an everyday walking shoe. I put over 650 miles on my first pair, just from my 2.5-mile morning walks. As you can see from the picture, after hundreds of walking miles, the rear sole began to wear out. The NB623s are not only comfortable, they clean-up well, too. My new pair of NB623s fit perfectly and I'm looking forward to another year of walking comfort. I take leaving reviews seriously, and should I experience any issues with the new pair of NB623s, I will update my review.
