Too tight a fit!

Their shelf pegs are too tight to be of any use. All my other 5mm. Shelf pins work fine, but these were so tight I actually broke one trying to remove it. Waste of money.
5 mm pins work with Ikea IVAR shelf system but 1/4 inch pins provide a better fit.

I am in the process of reconfiguring my computer workstation area and I am using the Ikea IVAR shelf sys components. One of the issues I will have to deal with is modifying the length of the shelves. In some cases this will involve shortening the shelves while in others I will need longer lengths.
Originally my plan for the shorter shelves involved cutting out a section of the shelf and then joining the two ends together. As I was searching the web for IVAR parts I came across a solution provided by another IVAR user where he indicated he used l-shaped support brackets with predrilled holes. As he assembled the shelves he used screws to attach the shelves to the supports.
Over the past couple of months I have been looking for straight metal pins to use with my IVAR shelves. I initially ordered 1/4 x 1 1/2 inch pins but the diameter of the pins were slightly too big, so I went with 3/16 inch (5 mm) pins which fit.
Not know which support pin would work best I ordered both the 1/4 and 5 mm (3/16") inch pins. Once received I found the 1/4 inch pins worked best.
The support pins arrived a day sooner than the original date and I was pleased since I ordered them a few days before Christmas.

Item as described but one peg was missing from a bracket. No big deal as I had to buy more locally anyway. We just built some large book cases and needed around 60 pegs. This price is higher than Home Depot but they did not have enough packages.
