DO NOT BUY!!! The dates on these are very close to expiration, if you buy a box, ensure you have enough time to eat as they have less than 30 days on the clock.

Also, the packaging on these have a seal issue; many of the received were not completely sealed and had begun to turn in color.

The top bar below is a correctly sealed bar, the bar on the bottom has a vacuum leak. a good percentage of my order had seal issues.

My epic bars don't expire for another month.However, as you can see from the picture they're already gross and moldy. I purchased an entire box of these for camping snacks, but now they're going in the trash. What a waste.

Bacon Bars:

I've been getting these on subscribe and save for a while and specifically chose this item because they did not have any type of added sugar. While mine always seemed dry, the flavor was good and I could deal with the dryness seeing as how I finally had a filling, no sugar snack to carry with me (and it tasted like bacon - even better!).

Today I opened one from my most recent delivery and took a bite, only to taste a sticky sweet, pork flavored bar. It was so different, I wasn't sure if there was something wrong with it. I noticed the label read pork + maple bar, so I wondered if I was sent the wrong box. No, the company switched the product formulation and tried to pass it off as the same thing! My "100% sugar free...15g of protein" bar transformed into a "100% Natural Pork...8g of protein" bar. I also noticed the sodium increased to 590mg, from 330mg in the previous bar.

I am extremely disappointed and have no desire to eat this new bar. It IS more moist, but I honestly don't like the flavor. I quickly cancelled my subscription and will not order any more products from Epic, as they no longer have items that work for me, nor do I feel I can trust them. (I have spent a lot on their bars and animal fats/oils, only to have to throw too many of them out due to being sour/off or poor tasting.)

Ordered the "Uncured Bacon" bars for mid-day snacks at the office because the information above said no sugar and no carbs. Turns out that was false - each bar has 7g carbs and 5g sugar. Wouldn't have purchased these if I had known that, and I won't be purchasing them again.

That said, if you aren't as picky about carbs and added sugar as I am, these are pretty good. Flavorful, compact, filling, with lots of protein - would be great to take on hikes, or as a post-workout or post-playing sports snack. Just wasn't what I thought I was getting when I ordered them.

No longer recommended. Now that they were purchased by General Mills they have added sugar to the previously 100% sugar free bacon bar. What was once my go-to healthy bar is now processed junk. 5 grams of sugar added now. NO THANK YOU. the bar was great before this and did not need added sugars.
