Nice idea, but not very reliable
W. BecklesAugust 8, 2018
Installation was very easy, just had a small wait at the start to let it update itself after connecting to the internet. Calling out is straight forward but again their a small wait while the app registers with the device and it doesn't always succeed, but that rare. On the Android calls get cut off after a few minutes. On the iPhone they seem to last much longer.

For incoming calls, things are reversed. They often show up on the Android, but hardly on the iPhone. But more often on both Android and iOS, you would missed the call and see a notification saying that you missed it immediately afterwards it rings off.

In short, it's a great concept and the price is good, but it's not very reliable, so it's not for people that need reliable use of their land line. I'm not a heavy landline user, so I'll keep it for now. Hopefully an upgrade will make it more reliable in the future. Actually, the app says "Beta version", so I think they know it isn't production ready.
LOVE THE PRODUCT. WILL DEFINITELY BUY ANOTHER ONE IF THE NEED ARISES.

This product is awesome. I mean, those telecom networks in the Philippines charge expensive landing fees to foreign operators calling the Philippines. With this product, I was able to use our home phone effortlessly and optimize the calling plans bundled with our traditional phone subscription.

Philippine government agencies and companies are notorious for putting customers on hold on the phone for several minutes. With this product, calling someone in the Philippines don't have to be expensive anymore. I don't have to worry about staying on hold for several minutes because I optimize the cellular network here in Korea (which is blazing fast) and local calls in the area where I installed Voice Bridge.

I don't have to worry about roaming because I can tell my contacts back at home to call my local number. People back at home were surprised that they can reach me using a local number.

I encountered a problem once: When the call was more than one hour. For some reason, I asked somebody back at home to turn on and off the device.

For Filipinos who wish to stay connected with people in the Philippines, I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND BUYING THIS PRODUCT.
Fantastic solution for my hard of hearing father
G. WilliamsAugust 28, 2017
I bought the Invoxia Voice Bridge for my father. He's unable to use even an amplified landline, but recently got new hearing aids that could be paired with an iPhone (which he got at the same time). Without the hearing aids he is not able to hear much.

We didn't want to simply forward his landline to the cell phone because he's not the only one who uses the landline. The Voice Bridge effectively makes the iPhone another handset. You can answer a call on the iPhone, and other handsets in the house can share the call because the iPhone is actually on the landline through the app and Bridge.

He is extremely happy to be able to talk on the landline phone now.

Another benefit is that landline calls can be answered when away from home the same as if he were in the house. That benefit is so useful that I bought one for my own landline. As long as I have an internet connection I can make and receive calls from my landline - so I don't have to deal with making sure my cell is capable of making phone calls internationally. If I have access to wifi, I don't need to pay international data rates for the calls either.

Just to be clear, I'm not receiving anything for writing this review. I got the standard "Please review" message I get from many apps, and decided to write this because I've found it to be so useful.

Photo shows the bridge itself with a pen for scale. 3 wires - power, phone (goes to a phone jack) and Ethernet. As long as you have all three available it can go anywhere in the house.
Love the Concept, not so much the product.
Frank S. PiloneMay 19, 2017
I really like the concept. Probably me and 3 other people in the US does not have unlimited calling on their cellular plan, I felt like this will be an ideal solution. I would hook this up to my ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter), and set Google Voice to ring the ATA which will send calls to my cellular phone as a Wifi call, or to my cellular number when I'm not in range. This is a great solution, and it worked for a few times.

However, the next day, I noticed that my phone was not ringing, instead - I was getting missed Landline call notifications. Everything is fine, it is plugged in, and running, and the app is connected. I used another phone to call myself, and so be it, my cellular phone was not ringing. I go to voicemail, and get the dreaded missed call notification. I contacted support by their message form, and waiting to hear back from them. However, while I loved the concept, it has failed so far to be a practical solution. If I can't get any satisfaction from Invoxia, I will have to return the product, and get my money back.

In case anyone wants to know, the phone is a Moto Z Play with Android 7.0
A miracle ... but I don't believe in miracles

I have been dumfounded by how well this works. Looking at how it connects, it should not work at all.

The voice bridge is a little box with 3 connections: power, analog phone, and router. When forwarding an unanswered phone call, it must be doing so via the router alone. The analog phone line is never answered so the Voice Bridge cannot be using the analog phone line to connect the mobile.

When the mobile is within range of the router, the Voice Bridge and App could be communicating on local network. However, how does that work when the mobile is outside the range of the router? That question nagged me for more than a week.

I now think the answer must be that both the Voice Bridge and the App communicate via some external site. They both connect to the site as clients (not servers). The site ties them together.

Now, postulating that the App is polling an external web site, what does this mean for mobile battery life? I think this means the App depletes your battery. Indeed, I have observed reduced battery life on my iPhone of late. The battery loses about 40% of charge overnight if not plugged in.

So, be warned. I think the App used to support the functionality runs down your battery (~ 40% in 8 hours). You may decide this is worth it. I am sharing this speculation/detective work so you can decide for yourself before paying. For myself, I do consider it worth it.

I have phones which do not have have wireless plans. Can this device make them usable as a phone since the box connects outward only via the router? No. I don't think so fully. My analysis is that the App need to make an outgoing wireless connection to web site and polls. Thus, I expect the phone needs a wireless plan or be connected via wi-fi to be usable as a phone
