This fixture is of a higher quality and thicker grade aluminum than most of the competitors similar products. It loses less heat and directs it better to where your reptiles want it. It is easy to tell the difference because the fixture is not nearly as hot to the touch as other brands when using the same wattage bulb. This is how they used to be made years ago. Highly recommend.
