Just received this item and after plugging in the unit to my pc and then plugging into the hub my 3 external usb hard drives that are powered by the hub they come up just great and are working fine. Great product that I just reordered another one for my other computer and they throwing away the ones I have that don't work.

Update: Purchased this product a few weeks and returned it due to peripherals looses the connection whether hub is powered or not. Tendak contacted me apologizing for my inconvenience.
Tendak send out a new USB Hub, same exact model that I returned, This one works flawlessly without any dropping peripherals, file transfer is up to speed advertised.

So far, so good. Reasonable price, works with my older MacBookPro. One of the problems I've had with a lot of powered hubs is that they cause a hum in my USB speakers. This hub does not! Nice clean sound from the speakers.
Since I mostly use it to run accessories, speed is not an issue. On the other hand, the keyboard and mouse respond the same as if plugged in directly to the Mac - there is no delay in response, which is nice because I can out type some computers.
I wish that the on & off actions were the same rather than a short touch for on, and long press for off, but I'm adapting.
The high power charging port is a nice addition.
I hope it continues to work!

I have too many things and too few USB ports in my computer! This works perfectly. And each thing can be turned on or off individually so if you're not using something it doesn't have to be connected. I keep my microphone, external hard drive, webcam, and steam controller receiver connected at all times and turn them on as I need them.

The buttons allow me to connect and disconnect thumb drives without pulling them out. I also use the hub for my mouse and keyboard to leave my front USB ports free to use. There was an issue with my HP Laserjet 4 Plus printer, which is 20 years old (before USB existed). It only has a parallel port and my new computer does not, so I had to purchase a parallel port to USB port converter. The cable has its own driver in addition to the printer driver. Under some situations, the button does not seem to work, so I must unplug and replug the USB connector to the hub. I've also noticed that under "Devices and Printers", I seem to get a copy for the printer, maybe due to the printer driver and the cable driver. This has been my only issue.
