Anker's products are still a step above its Amazon competitors from overseas

Now, this isn't a laptop or mesh network or anything too complicated... but a reason Anker's slight premium over similar products here is well-worth it imo, is attention to detail -- both to function and aesthetics of the device.
Have a handful of Anker stuff, from boost packs to BT earbuds to chargers and cables... and still use them, years later. That's not something you can expect typically from a no-name manufacturer. Having given the benefit of doubt (and lots of cash) to no-names that didn't deserve it... Anker is one that just kept making good solid kit, consistently.
This hub gets a tiny bit warm, like a bit over body temp -- nothing like my no-name USB-C-to-MagSafe charger adapter, which gets almost too hot to grasp. These kinds of makers build their tech to that too-common standard that attracts buyers with low prices: nickel-and-dimed into barely-functioning timebombs. Anker's other products IME seem to avoid this temptation and charge a bit more for decent engineering -- which is preferable, of course.
The hub feels solid, nice to handle, with details like the MicroSD card reader slot having a nice defined 'click' on insertion, and USB male connector fitting perfectly into my Mac's 4 stock ports. The cable feels substantial, with some spring in it but also a bit of give into a shape, so feels like it'll survive daily tucking and straightening for a long time. I can't even get this in Apple tech nowadays. :/
A bonus, is accessories that come in the Anker box. Nothing extravagant... but for example this hub comes with a nice faux-suede pouch with a little extra sewn pocket on the outside to tuck and protect the cable & connector. If you stuffed the cable into the main pouch with the unit, the connector could scratch it. Very simple gesture, but a thoughtful design that people will actually use.
I now forgo the price bloat of name brands for Anker whenever I can, as decontenting seems to the rule when a big manufacturer gets lazy and wants to sit on their laurels.
As long as Anker continues to make their products like this hub, I'll keep buying.

i used this usb hub for my 2020 macbook pro 13in M1. im sure many people need one because of only two usbc's. i wish there was another usb c port on the hub. the Hdmi port is what i mainly got the Hub for. i connected it to my LG 32UD59-B 32-Inch 4K monitor. the connection was good. the sd card slot also worked as it should. i like purchasing electronics from this brand because of its quality and years of experience. it does get a bit loud but was never an issue for me.
overall, i would recommend this to anyone who wants a sumple usbc adapter hub. i admit that there are better options for that price range. it was just that i got this hub about 2 years ago, so that was a good buy at the time. 5/5

Now I can connect to two external monitors in my office without having to carry the bulky port they assigned me
Seriously, just get this one.

At long last, somebody had made a quality USB-C adapter with a few USB-A 3.0 ports, SD & Micro SD card slots and just for laughs, an HDMI input. No surprise that it was Anker that pulled it off. The adapter itself is very well built, unlike many other adapters sold on Amazon and even Apple's own chintzy ones. The cable is relatively thick and seems like it will hold up over time and with a length of 1/2 a foot. A bit too long IMO, but I'd rather have a bit more cable length than less. Speeds on all ports are as fast as can be and the HDMI port worked with no stutters on a 1080p TV outputting a full length movie. The USB ports are only meant for data, not for power. If I had to knock it, it'd have to be for the lack of Ethernet, but Anker makes a few different adapters with such a port if you need one.Theres also no pass through power on this adapter, so if you're using this on a device with limited ports (i.e MacBook, iPad Pro, phone) you'd probably be better off ponying up the extra cash for the adapter that does include it so you can juice up and use the adapter simultaneously. As it stands, for ~$25, you'd be hard pressed to find a better product from a reputable company, especially if you don't need Ethernet or pass through power.
Works great

I debated on whether to get the Anker 7 outlet hub or this 5 outlet one. Got a great price on the 5, and it works perfectly for me. I like the Anker brand and feel secure using their products as I know they are engineered to not overheat or ignite. This one feels well made, I like the understated design, and more importantly, it does what I purchased it for. Tried all five ports and all communicate with my laptop, including downloading pics from an SSD card, and using a wireless mouse and keyboard plug. No problem fitting it into the usb-c slot in my laptop. Only wish is for a longer cord.
