I bought this for my then-new 16" MacBook Pro at the end of December 2019. Now, as I write this (in August 2021), both HDMI outputs have failed, causing my laptop to crash hard as soon as I plugged the HDMI cable in. It stated out intermittently (and YES, I tried different cables and monitors), and it just plain doesn't work any more now. It also was getting VERY hot to the touch for a few weeks prior to this failure, so who knows?

I paid $79.99 for mine new. Now it's $10 cheaper, but I'm ordering a new/different replacement "“ still a TOTU "“ but one that's another $10 less expensive: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X8V3SLM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ALZBPX6RDIEL2&psc=1 ... without the VGA port, which I didn't use anyway.

So, this 13-in-1 hub was rock solid until it wasn't, so I'm only dinging it by one star... I guess this is typical of products at this price point. At work, I have a dock that cost $250 in 2017, and it is still going strong 4+ years later.

I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 I purchased in November. It is a great 2 in 1 laptop, but I needed the ability to project my screen and use additional USB ports. The USB C Hub by TOTU is perfect for the job. It has a medal case with a sharp looking design to it. It is also light weight, which makes it perfect for carrying around with my Surface Pro 7. It also came with a nice carrying bag for storage.
I am using the HDMI and VGA ports for display and they both work superbly. There are times I need the VGA for an old school projector connection and I simply plug it in and it works. I can use duplicate screen or extended screen with no problem. I have shown video with this and the quality is great! Just plug and play, it is really that simple. Also, when I use the VGA port, the Microphone/Audio port works great projecting my sound through the speaker attached to the projector. Of course, the HDMI is a better picture and I have used it with a TV and projector. The HDMI transmits sound also, so it not only gives a better picture it is more convenient for sound. This device has two HDMI and 1 VGA so you can actually have three screens projecting at once and with the extend screen option I can have a movie on another monitor or tv while I do other things on my Surface Pro 7. This is a perfect 10 when it comes to video.
Another great feature is the USB ports. There are 2, 2.0 USB ports, and 2, 3.0 USB ports. I can hook up my external DVD drive to show a movie or copy information from a CD if needed. I can also use the additional USB ports for external mouse and keyboard when I am connected to an external monitor. All USB ports work just as you expect them too, another perfect 10 for the USB ports.
For even more convenience this USB C Hub has an ethernet connector. This allows me to take my Surface Pro 7 to the modem and connect it directly to it for internet speed testing. There are also times when I need an ethernet connection so I will be nice to have this with me. Again, this is a perfect 10 for this little device.
Not only does this have all of these packaged together in a very compact device, but you also get SD/TF Cards Reader. This is very convenient for taking a card from an outdoor camera and being able to copy it directly to my computer. This is really just icing on the cake for a very well-built device that offers everything I need to make my Surface Pro 7 more productive. Everything has worked just as expected, so my overall review of this is a perfect 10. I have had no issues with this device.

This model has a good number of ports for various things considering how compact it is.

Pros:
- Simple plug & play setup with no driver/firmware installation required!
- Four USBs + a headphone jack for when I forget my wireless headphones at home :)
- 2 HDMI ports, both of which are capable of 4k @ 60FPS! This is perfect for my dual-monitor array, and also ensures PC games are displayed crisply and without lag!

Cons:
- Relatively short cord.
- USB-C Power delivery wattage is somewhat low (@75 watts w/ an 87wa charger) for an adapter in this cost range.
- While there are a total of 4 USB ports which is nice, they are for "data only" which means none of them provide high-amp charging capabilities. So if your looking to charge your iPad/iPhone while also getting some work done no dice :(

I love the compact size/portability of this device, also the space gray color coordinates with recent MacBook Pro, and iPad models perfectly. But for the price I would have liked to see at least a full 87watt power delivery and maybe 1-2 2.1amp-capable USB ports. Overall, this product definitely helps me maximize the ports on my computer and my new iPad Pro which frees up desk space and that was my goal so id say its a win!

I give this product an overall rating of 4 stars. Let me explain. I do a lot of work from home and have a Win10 laptop from work which outputs at 4K for multiple monitors with no problem at work. At home, I had a 4K monitor and up until recently, a 1080p monitor paired together on my desk. When connected via the Totu hub, it only outputted to 1080p on both screens. I wanted the 4K on both for more screen real estate. but the only way that was going to happen was to buy a second 4K monitor. So I did. I was going to do this anyway but was disappointed when I could not connect my laptop (with screen closed) to the two 4K monitors at 4K. I bought this hub for this reason. I know I looked at the pictures provided by the ad and saw it would output to two screens at 4K but did not realise that it is mirrored, and not two different screens. While this severely disappointed me, my workaround was to connect one monitor via the built in HDMI port on the laptop and then use one of the HDMI ports on the hub to get 4K on both monitors. I feel for $75, that being able to get 2 4K monitors at the same time from the hub is a must, since that is one of the primary reasons people are buying this hub.

While I am not exactly happy with the result, I am content.

Now the built quality and how compact it is, is all top-notch in my opinion, so I am very happy with that.

Very good product for the money in the end, but if you want to make it a great product, add the ability to output 4K to two monitors with different desktops (e.g., not mirrored).
