This cup holder is just ok. The mechanism for securing it into the cup holder was constantly coming loose, so I needed to keep on retightening it every time I put my phone into the holder. The neck was a little bit short for my car (Honda Pilot) but that's more on me for ordering the 4 inch neck instead of the 8 inch one. After a few weeks the plastic part that held my phone in place actually broke and I contacted the company because I was pretty frustrated by this mount. They responded immediately, offered me a refund, and actually sent me a replacement phone holder that fits into my vent! This cup holder mount was not very great, but to be honest for the cost I understand that there might be some flaws in the build quality. I would rate it 3 stars, and added 1 because the company was very helpful and willing to make things right. For me that's a huge factor in deciding to buy something, and if you're thinking about purchasing from them I can't promise a perfect product, but can vouch for their customer service.

I wanted to give this a 5-star and if I had done the rating when I 1st received it I would have but over time a few things have changed. I do absolutely love this holder. It holds and charges my phone if I need a charge. It also has the ability to charge several other devices at the same time, so my passengers can charge their devices too. It does suck that it takes up one of my drink holders, but I knew that when I bought it and was willing to give up the drink holder for the moveable arm that would hold my phone wherever I placed it. Perfect for GPS/Navigation.

Here is the downfall, the more I use it (every day), the looser the clamps that hold the phone in place are becoming and it is getting harder and harder to get my phone to clamp in and stay in place. It wants to slide down. I just keep applying a little more pressure to try to get to click just one more click of tightness, but eventually, I know that is not going to work.

Because this clamp because loose with use I am giving this a 4-star instead of a 5-star rating.

I will find a way to make the phone stay in the clamps because I just love the way this fits my car and all the extra ports I have access too. I can charge multiple devices all while I am driving.

I would give 5 stars if not for the mechanism that fits into the cup holder, it should be a little bigger and its a little flimsy. I drive a Hyundai elantra and the cup holder is not exactly big and I have to open the base to full extension to get it close to tight. however, once you get the base adjusted (if you are having issues try using a paper towel or 2 as a spacer, works wonders), over all the unit is pretty sturdy. I do rideshare so I drive a lot, and so far it stays stiff as a board driving around. the holder itself grips my phone great, I have a Samsung s7 with otterbox and there is room to spare, but my phone doesn't budge when I set it in the holder. and I am definitely happy that I got the long one. it could still be another 2 inches longer to be perfect

Our state has passed a law that says you cannot hold your phone at anytime while driving. I've had the Macaulay Car Up Holder Phone Mount over four weeks now. It is still working nicely. It took a minute to get it to adjust to the cup holder size and after reading the other reviews I haven't been keen on removing it just to reinstall. It is very convenient, easy to see while driving. Yes, because the neck is so long there is some "jiggling" while driving but nothing obtrusive. It keeps the phone within finger distance. (We are allowed to touch the phone with one finger when the car is stopped.) I've tried other car mounts and none of them work with the dashboard of my car. Also the feature that lets you charge not just your phone but another device is really handy.

This car mount actually tightens the vent mount into the vents with a serrated instead of the rubber ones. The phone is held onto the mount with a magnet either mounted on the back of the phone or into the case. Unlike other car mounts, this one actually stays put and never becomes unattached.
