Keeps me from tearing up my brush guard which is where I use to anchor my winch. It is pretty soft though and where the cable goes in larger than expected. Just make sure you don't overtighten when bringing in your winch cable.

This is the first one that I have personally bought but my boyfriend has bought three of these and they break easily which sucks other than that when you're using it it's good it keeps the winch from dangling and clanking but I wish it didn't break so easily when you're pulling the winch back in it's not like the wind rolls back in at 50 miles an hour one small tug too much it breaks

All my buddies love this when they see it. It is a bit huge, but it right at home on the front of my ATV. Also, if you don't have a towel, this is the weight you use to help if the cable breaks. Just slide it down the cable a ways. Once you pull the cable tight, all jiggling from the winch is gone and you just don't think of it again.
Works well I would purchase again.

So far this item is working perfectly. Due to some reviews indicating it will fall apart. I did put a screw pipe clamp around the outside. So far no issues and it keeps everything secure. Would have given 5 stars had it not been metric allen head and nut. I use it on a trailer mounted winch. I have no problem recommending this item. I like the fact you only need to open on one side to put on cable.

It's been working for over a month and a half with no issues. I've only used my winch 3 times so maybe more testing is required. The only issue was the initial installation since I tightened down the screws to much that it squished the two pieces together. That's a me problem. It keeps the metal-crimp on my Can-Am Commander Warn winch hook from being sucked into or scratching the rollers. Also keeps the pull strap from dragging the ground.
