I have had several gas-powered trimmers and have ruined several with ethanol gas. Not a problem with this trimmer. It also will connect with several other tools that I have with no problem. Does a fantastic job with thick grass and weeds around our pond. The battery charges rapidly. It is heavy and instructions say to use a strap with an illustration for a strap. I don't know if it was supposed to come with a strap, but mine did not have one included. I would give this a five star rating if it was supposed to come with a strap, and mine did not.

Runs well, but every time you let off of the "throttle" you have to wait a second for it to ramp up to speed again, even if it's still spinning. You can't "goose" it like you would with a gas powered trimmer. -1 star here.
Weight and balance is as good as any gas trimmer, maybe a little lighter.
The gears & bearings in the head are also getting noisy after light use. Adding grease didn't help. -1 more star.

All in all, it's a decent, medium-duty trimmer. If it was lost or stolen (batteries and all), I'd replace it with a stihl FS70R and go back to dealing with gas and oil.

I purchased this unit because I wanted to also have the ability to have a brush cutter, but I did not want to purchase a gas model. I am a happy camper in that this does an excellent job with weeds, it is very powerful, the battery lasts a long time and ... yes, it is compatible with attachments that are normally only available for gas units. I am very happy with this purchase!!

So far this is one awesome weed eater! Cuts through weeds as good as a gas weed eater. Except don't have the hassle of trying to get it started or smell like burnt oil when done. It is a little pricey but as long as it's a good product & does what it says I'm ok with that. The battery's still had plenty of charge after done weed eating a 3/4 acre home lot. It is a little heavy so a smaller person or someone like my spouse may want to use the shoulder harness to help with the weight. Great product!!

It is so nice to not have to deal with gas, oil, and the noise of a gasoline powered trimmer. There is a small lag time from squeezing the power trigger to the trimmer coming up to full speed but I would rather use this over a gasoline powered trimmer any day. Works great for my .3 acre lot and would work well for a larger yard too.
