Instructions / Battery Issue
path3824✓ Verified PurchaseApril 10, 2018
The only reason I am giving this product 3 stars is that the instruction booklet is pretty useless and battery didn't last long. Shows mostly pictures that don't help much when wanting to make weed edger option to a weed trimmer option. FYI for picture of F make sure you have handle facing the weed trimmer side. Then for picture G1 - you step on the safety guard to make it to weed trimmer. Also, my yard is large size and since I didn't have trimmer last few weeks of season last year battery only lasted 1/4 of my yard. On the plus side trimmer/edger is light weight which makes using it comfortable. I have had a Worx Trimmer in the past with older type battery and they lasted a lot longer then the new lithium battery. If you have a small yard than trimmer/edger will work for you.
Great for my weak lady arms

Im an average sized lady and wanted something i could handle and not have sore arms afterward. I have used this trimmer about a dozen times and it is exactly what i was looking for. It can be a bit odd to convert the bottom back and forth from edger with wheels to just weed eater, but im getting the hang of it. I have yet had to adjust the string at all so i dont know how difficult that is. This is being used on a city property for edging my lawn/grass only. The battery, fully charged, has no problem lasting the approx 30 mins it takes to do my front, back, and side yard areas. I have not tried to use it longer, so unsure of the total battery time allowed.
This trimmer is a nice value for the price!

I got this to do the edging around my house and to use as a grass trimmer for the steeper portions of my yard. I love that this trimmer is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and offers sufficient battery power for my needs. Keep in mind that this runs off of smaller batteries, so if you are used to a gas trimmer and looking for that same level of power, this might not be the trimmer for you.

I picked this model because it did come with two batteries, which is really helpful. For the most part, assembly is a breeze, but I checked out the WORX online videos to double-check how to do a couple of the steps (the videos are pretty good).

For the price, this trimmer is a great value.
Works great on MY 2 acres!

Love this thing. After getting the powerful gas trimmer and spending a few weekends dragging it all over the property, decided that there really SHOULD be something that was a little less bulky, cumbersome - and tiring. Granted the gas trimmers aren't like carrying a MOWER around, but they're not light when you go carting 'em around a couple acres.

THIS Worx unit IS light - even after caring it around a couple acres. No issue with choking, starting, running out of gas, MIXING gas, spark plugs, tuneups, etc. An electric battery starts the trimmer when you pull it. Period. No hassle. On the ONE hand, they are NOT as strong (at least this model isn't) as a 25cc gas trimmer, but 95% of the time I really don't care about all that power. And, as I saw someone else point out, having gravel and sticks hitting your shins at 140 mph is no picnic. STILL have dings on my legs from a couple months ago. So it may even be regarded as a PLUS - cuts grass AND saves your legs!

It takes a bit of getting used to as far as the line advance but seems to have worked well so far. I have to manually advance it every once in a while, but have yet to need to reload the spool - after weedeating the yard (~2 acres) three times plus some touchup weeding, I'm still on the first spool. Since you can manually reload with your own line, it really should be no issue anyway. The toughest thing to get used to is NOT banging it on the ground to advance.

The variability of the head pitch is great - being taller some angles work a LOT easier for me than they do for my significantly shorter fiancee - we're about a foot different in height. And a quick twist is all that's required to get the angle right for both of us.

The edging setup works great too - and also did away with the regular need for the gas driven edger. Now, If you want to dig a nice line with your edger, you WILL still need your gas version but for weekly tidying up - this is perfectly adequate!

The only thing I wish it had was what apparently the 2.0 model had and that was a way to put the wheels down to use it as sort of a mini-lawn mower thing - keeping the height consistent in tough to reach areas - like underneath decks or porches that aren't completely accessible while standing.

DEFINITELY a great purchase for me.
Light and easy to use - 2 batteries does my 1/4 acre (well maintained) lot with no problems

I wanted to wait after a few uses. I think I've used it about 9-10 times now. So glad we got this. It is really light and makes trimming and edging seem almost fun now. Thinking back to my corded trimmer and always having to manually feed the line because the autofeed never worked right. The autofeed works on this almost flawlessly. I've only had to open the cap with the line twice. Once because I didn't autofeed in time and the line was no longer sticking out then the 2nd time was to swap it out. I just bought the 6 pack of line here on amazon because it was basically the same price.

Durability and use. After reading the reviews and how hard it was to snap into place I confirmed it was, but I read some and the materials they use are very durable. I think I read it on their homepage that the plastic used was the same plastic on helmets, so I think it will last a long time. I only have about a 1/4 acre of a yard. The first use was not under easy conditions because it rained a lot and things were getting a little tall. Under normal conditions this thing flies through the jobs. Both batteries easily get me through the front and backyard and edging around the flowerbeds. Sadly we got lazy on our backyard flowerbed and now we have grass/weeds...so I just whack them down for now. I know you can't have the perfect "conditional" yard to cut every time because of rain and growth...so 2 batteries is pushed to the limit then because it does bog down in thicker conditions. Not so much that it stops, but it definitely slows down then picks back up once cut.

It is light like everyone says, but I read somewhere here ( some elderly lady) where she crafted/engineered an old shoulder strap to help ease the load even more. I will tell you. I exercise and lift dumbbells 10x this weight, but hardly stopping now and moving...it does get heavy after awhile. So I have slowly been thinking how I can rig a shoulder strap. This will make it even faster. I feel my forearms after basically non-stop use of this.

The Batteries seem to hold pretty good constant charge for me. I make sure they're both fully charged before I do any work. The only complaint I have, and it may only be mine...is that the charger itself is REALLY snug when snapping in. Snapping into the tool itself is very easy. I don't think my wife or kids would actually be able to unlock it from the charger as snug as it is right now. It works so well and the snug snapping on the charger is not enough to make me want to deduct a star.

I plan to buy the hedger and blower next to have extra batteries and chargers. I think on one of them I'll just buy the tool itself. I think 3 batts and 2 chargers should suffice.

If I find any anomalies during the summer I will surely report it here. I use amazon reviews like crazy and trust everyone's positive and negative reviews. So if I read enough...I suppose i'd jump off a bridge with yall. Even if I don't buy from Amazon (oops?) I still normally buy something they may stock and read their reviews. Sometimes I just need something right then lol. Sorry Amazon.
