Power is just mediocre
A pricey, yet a totally worthy upgrade over my Cambridge Audio DacMagic XS

As DacMagic was based on the same ESS Sabre dac-chip family as Groove, it was a tough decision whether to spend extra money for yet another Sabre-based super-compact USB DAC. For me the results are astonishing. My Oppo PM-2 has low impedance and is positioned by the manufacturer as an easy to drive headphone. It turned out that DacMagic power was simply not enough to uncover my headphone's potential. Then Groove did it! Although the dynamics could be a bit better (maybe one can achieve that only with high power desktop rig), the scene depth and high frequency resolution improved significantly. I'm very satisfied with this purchase. Still some cons: leds serving as a volume meter is a non-necessary feature IMHO, the device gets warm during operation (but don't worry "” it won't explode like a Samsung phone:))), the size is larger than my DacMagic XS. All these cons are insignificant when you consider the audio quality.

Incredible sound, for an incredible little device. I love the little nuances in sound that it provides in some tracks (especially in EDM) that you never really notice because this thing adds more depth to it. In other words, you may hear some stuff in your favorite tracks you never heard before that are so subtle, but were always there all along. Great little DAC. Pricing could be a little cheaper IMO, but still worth it.

It's able to drive my Sennheiser HD600, which enabled me to ditch the old earphones attached to the PC in the home office, lay back and enjoy music while pretending to be busy doing important things.
The sound is very detailed, natural and without distortions and the device is small enough to just forget that it's there at all. Highly recommended for those not afraid to spend a bit more extra cash first in order to reap big benefits later.
