Thick Bar

I thought it wouldn't be that bad, but it is quite difficult to use. I'm limited by grip strength over the actual muscles in my back. I'm about 6' and average proportions so unless your 6'6+ with large hands, this wont work.
Sad part is, there are no other dual bars on the market for anything close to a reasonable price.
As an update: I've been using this for around a month now. It's definitely not the width I was expecting and was relatively awkward to use initially based on previous work outs. But it is very similar to using pull up bars on the outskirts of football fields (if anyone ever did that, those big white thick bars). It may be slightly larger, however, I have become more accustomed to it. While the weight I'm capable of doing lat pull downs has gone down, I am using more of my grip strength and forearms in the process.
So while it looses the complete concentration on your lats, you DO gain a bit in other areas that may be desirable. Also now that I've done it awhile, I have noticed my grip strength improve in other exercises where I have been limited by grip strength and not primary muscle groups. So take that for what it is.
I increased it to 4 stars for that reason. It has it's purpose.

Great Quality But VERY Thick

I bought this to compliment by Freemotion Cross Cable Machine, which it does very well. My only complaint is that it is so thick I cannot comfortably hold it behind my head on my shoulders, so squats are impossible. No stars removed because I suspect this has more to do with my 64 year old arthritic shoulders than the bar. It is well constructed with quality materials and excellent value and I've no doubt younger people will have no issue.

I use this bar for bench and squats on a cable machine and it works great. I like the larger diameter bar because it does not dig into you sholders like a traditional squat bar. The use with a functional trainer, the versatility is quite endless.
