Perfect Starter Headset.
AwkwardPotato1198•May 15, 2018
The price point can't be beat for someone who just peripherally committed to flying. This set popped-up in my search for noise-cancelling aviation headsets. These DO NOT HAVE active noise cancelling! (Which I should have known considering the price.) They are, however, noise reducing which is just fine for my needs. Imagine a headset you would wear at a shooting range but with coms capability. I would advise getting the earpiece covers to make them more comfortable, because the pads on the earpiece are vinyl/pleather and make your ears hot and sticky. This is a perfect starter headset for a student pilot or passenger aviators. The sound quality is on par with the loaner headsets at the flight school without being a skunky loaner headset. Time will tell how they hold up in the long run, but my first impression is that this headset is a great value.
This headset is great! It performs just as good if not better ...

This headset is great! It performs just as good if not better than the big name green headsets that I have been using, and the KA-1 is more comfortable to wear - none of the "my head is in a vice" feeling. Communications with radio and intercom were crisp and clear. The individual volume controls for each ear cup is a nice touch. It comes standard with thick gel ear cup pads that very effective even if you wear glasses/sun glasses as I do. I also got the Deluxe cloth ear cup covers which really helped keep the headset comfortable when flying in the afternoon Florida heat. In the photo of the headset, the top head pad looks like it would cause some "hot spots" but it didn't - it's actually very soft and comfortable. Kore also includes an extra mic windscreen and attachment with the headset. Kore's customer support/service is one of the best that I've seen anywhere - Min contacted me to be certain that I was satisfied with the KA-1 (very nice touch).
All of this at a price point that is half of what the big guys are charging, translates into an outstanding value for the pilot. I would not hesitate to purchase this headset again and will recommend it to all of the pilots I know.

Amazing and very comfortable headset at a wonderful price!

This headset is amazing and very comfortable! The sound is very good and I was able to size it perfectly for me and I will be buying one for my wife. The gel ear seals are so comfortable and don't get hot as many of them do. So I don't have the "sweaty" feeling and my ears don't feel rubbed on like many headsets can do and they get almost chafed with some, but not these. These are so very comfortable! There is also a fabric cover for the gel ear seal and my I like to leave them on over them for added protection of both the seals as well as my ears, but my wife prefers them off. The carrying bag is so nice to carry it in and appears to be very durable to keep it in. I have been using this for about 3 weeks and very pleased with it and will post an update if I need to! We have a Cessna 175 that we have plugged these into and the sound quality is so good and it blocks out so much of the outside noise. For the price you just can't beat these! As I stated I will be buying another set for my wife and probably two more later for any passengers that we have in the back seat. I will post an update if needed as I use them to keep you posted on the durability, but I don't expect any problems. So for I highly recommend them!
Super comfortable well made headset at a fantastic price!

I haven't actually used this headset in a plane as I don't start my flight training till November. But I had to purchase a set before I start my flight training. With so many sets on the market I was a little overwhelmed at first. I was told to just go with an economical headset to start with because you won't know what you're really looking for until you start flying and trying other models. With a limited budget my options were kind of limited. After researching a few mainstream manufacturers I realized that this Kore KA-1 Gel headset had almost all the same features but at a fraction of the price. I Have been wearing the headset around my apartment to get used to having it on my head for long periods of time. The headset is super comfortable and I don't notice any head squeezing at all. I puchased the gel cup covers for the headset so I don't have any heat issues while wearing the unit for long perods of time (in my apartment). The headset cups are very soft and supple and very comfortable around my ears. I was a little worried about the construction for the price but now that I've had them for a few weeks I'm very happy with the overall construction and solid feel of this headset. If you're looking for an economical, well-made, comfortable headset, this is the choice for you. Once I start my actual flight training I'll come back and update this review. Overall I love this headset so far and look forward to using it in the air.
Great product at this price

Great product at this price. I've used lots of headsets: Bose, Telex, Clarks, ANR/non-ANR, Lightspeed in-ear with custom-molded earbuds in singles and twins. Bought a couple of these to replace some old sets to keep around JIC in plane for passengers and co-pilot use. Ended up using them myself. Nothing as convenient as a non-ANR, gel, quiet, slap on head headset for Will get more of these if they last the summer/fall.
