Used this to hardwire a Mobius dashcam. Worked fine for about a month and then I started having problems with the camera not starting up. Through some research and testing, I determined the camera worked ok (powered on with battery and via computer as USB source), and that over-voltage protection was engaging on the camera. Ordered a similar item from WheelWitness and that's been working for a few weeks without issue. I'm glad my camera has the protection circuit or this piece of junk would have fried it.

This thing did not work. I was using it to splice a car camera setup to eliminate the cigarette lighter socket connector. after cutting the wiring, and hooking this thing up it stopped working. I figured that I had fried the component, that is.. until I pigtailed the old lighter jack back on and it worked. I went another route with the install and got it done, this POS is sitting somewhere on my shop floor.

Rather than wait two+ weeks for this type of power supply for my Vantrue car dashcam, I found this online via Amazon, and it was at my house two days later. I had the Geek Squad auto bay at my local Best Buy install it in my 2002 Corvette, and it's now almost hidden and works when the car is started (it's hardwired to a switched circuit).

Pros: Works as advertised. Charges my Samsung Galaxy S6 and I don't get the "slow charging" message. Seems high quality - everything was solidly put together with no gaps in the transformer block, etc.
Cons: I wish the wires were a bit longer. I had to splice quite a bit of wire to them to get them to reach the power distribution under the hood. Unless your dash mount as 3 feet away from your battery - in a straight line - be prepared to splice some wire.
Bottom line: Yes, I would buy again. Adding wire is not that big of a deal. If you're able to install one of these in the first place, you should be able to do that as well.

I use this to power a dash camera in my car. It provide steady power and was easy to install. The wires are quite small so care must be taken when making a connection, but otherwise the quality is good and the whole thing is quite compact and easy to fit behind trim panels. It has been working flawlessly for quite some time now, and I have used this same inverter in my other vehicles for the same reason.
Make sure you get the right length to accommodate your power run.
