Perfect For The Price

Painted to match the door and it looks superb. As others have mentioned, the visible screw heads could have been engineered better, but after painting over them, they disappear from thought. This item is functional, beautiful, and works great as a key drop. We aren't using it for bulky items, keys only.
Envelopes get stuck above door sometimes.
Kara MNovember 26, 2017
I installed this over a year ago for my tenants to use. It gets used about twice a month. Twice now, an envelope with cash has gotten stuck in a way that someone could pull it back out. They get stuck on the top of that upper piece of metal that the door rests against. That piece is held by 3 spot welds. Between is a gap that paper fits into. I've tried caulking it so paper can't sit up there.
Other that that, we've been happy with this product.
Bad design.

Not designed very well. Lip on the back side of the locking door inside catches envelopes as they are dropped in and they don't fall all the way to the bottom. Envelopes can be seen and retrieved through the drop side door if it is not constantly emptied more then 5 or 6 envelopes will jam it up..
I would definitely recommend this product

Alot easier to install than I anticipated. Very well constructed and secure. I would definitely recommend this product.

These boxes are heavy duty but there is a fundamental problem with their design: It is difficult to slip mail into the slot! The problem is there is a lip welded at the top of the retrieval door that the mail catches on when the mail carrier slips it in the front. The mail either gets bent or often the carrier simply leaves it hanging halfway out the front, defeating the security altogether. The back side of the box needs to be smooth to allow normal size envelopes to pass. Magazines and larger envelopes get mutilated. Needs a rethink!!!
