It's better if you have a big space for it to explore
Jane✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 12, 2017
I only have a small space so it runs into things constantly. The head also falls off a lot when it bumps into things. It was pretty annoying. Also I found out this one is an old model. So I returned it and will think about getting the newer model.
Entertaining, but high maintenance

I bough this for my wife after seeing the latest movie. She loved this druid so I surprised her with one for our anniversary. We've had a lot of fun with it around the house. It does pick up little bits of dust and pet hair quite easily son daily maintenance is required if you use it that often. The watching with BB-8 function is okay, although we kind of.expected more. Also, if you play with this droid, you have to make sure your phones volume is up, otherwise is just a remote controlled sphere. The sounds make it more entertaining. All things considered, hood buy for what I paid for it, which was not retail. Someone else may feel differently if they've paid full retail price.
Son loves to play with his BB-8. Packed well to ship.

Was very impressed at how well the box was packed for shipping,to protect the product. The box for the actual product was sealed/never opened (new as described). My son downloaded an app to his iPhone that he uses to control different functions on the BB-8. He loves playing with it! Sometimes, the head falls off if it hits the wall or cabinet door, etc, but it's magnetic and very easy to just put the head back on and keep playing. Seems very durable so far. Has a charging cradle to keep it charged via usb.
Sphero BB 8 is a really beautiful piece collection

Sphero BB 8 is a really beautiful piece collection, has a gentle design that I loved. It is luxurious and finely finished, the charging base gives presence where he put to rest or while charging. Packing box is collectible and really well done.
It is important to clarify buyers Sphero BB8: no sound or speak !. The sounds you hear in promotional videos and YouTube are generated by the smartphone during the operation BB8 with the mobile app Sphero.

The application is simple to configure and easy to use, as well as upgrade potential has observed, the same as for Sphero BB8 it has firmware upgradeability.

I definitely recommend this product for those who loved BB8 in Star Wars Episode VII and collectors.
I love it. You literally feel a bond.

Very easy to control once you understand the blue led has to face you then all the controls are true to the actual perspective of the operator. I had the head fall off only once and that was when I was trying. Magnets aren't perfect they did what they could do. When you run it into a wall, it does respond to the "stimuli" from the accelerometer as a feeling of pain. I think this is interesting that it has feelings. I'm an INFJ so this droid set off my extroverted feeling function even and felt bad for it. Sorry to say but that's a sign of the time that robots are getting feelings, usually reserved for us. I'll bet it also feels tired when the battery is low. It is literally a toy and this nerd loves playing with it. It is more like a mechanical pet than an RC toy.
