Huge step backward from the original Boogie Board.

I have one of the original Boogie Boards, and liked it enough to want more. Unfortunately this latest version is a big step back.
First of all, the writing is much fainter than on the original. The stylus tip is very thin, but even if you draw at an angle or use a thicker stylus, the contrast on the LCD is just nowhere near what my other Boogie Board can do. The photos used on this product page are extremely misleading; the actual board is nowhere near that bright of contrast.
This new board is also very thin - too thin. and the sloped sides give you very little margin to grasp on to. It's clear that they were trying to save plastic with this model, but that makes the whole device pretty awkward to handle. And the bizzare stylus holder is a joke. It's a ring of flimsy plastic I am constantly worried about breaking, it leaves an unslightly hole in the device, it again makes the device awkward to handle, and it doesn't even hold the stylus securely! The "kickstand" feature on this model is a joke, as it's very flimsy and since you have to use the stylus as the kickstand the functionality isn't really there.
Overall, I'm afraid Boogie Board has decided to take advantage of their initial success and just run away with people's money. The brand won't be worth much soon, if they keep putting out junk like this.

I have owned two boogie boards prior to this, each lasted about a year which was acceptable to me. I got quite a bit of use from them as I am a laryngectomee and sometimes not able to speak. I purchased this Boogie Board which arrived last week. It immediately struck me as much cheaper construction than my previous units. It began failing on the first day and stopped completely on the second day.
I just received an email asking me to contact the company by clicking a link if I was unhappy. Oh what a surprise when I clicked on the link and discovered that I would have to sign up to some unheard of cloud service that HAS A FEE THAT I HAVE TO PAY IF I AM UNHAPPY!
Well, I am totally dissatisfied and I am certainly not going to pay to report it! I just want my money back, I'll go back to using a paper and pen.

After finding out my little one is a visual learner, I sought out to get all the visual tools and materials for him to use. Thankfully, I stumbled upon this nifty little gadget. My little one loved it! He used it to practice his numbers and letters. Unfortunately, that joy lasted for about two days, TWO DAYS.
It broke. Clear button would not erase.
Currently rummaging through the garbage to find the receipt.
Really disappointed.

Very disappointing. We bought 2 for my husband who can not speak. We loved the brighter screen. However, after a month the first one wouldn't erase even after changing the battery. The second one lasted only a few weeks. The older version we bought in June still works fine.
