It works great. I mainly use for making a borate wood preservative, which has several pounds of dry chemicals to be mixed with one gallon of liquid. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because I can't run over half speed without the stirrer flying out rotation off to to the side. I've tried with a few different stirrers. It still does the job quite well.

the stirring and heating can work simultaneously, also can proceed alone
if you like pieces of it chipping off and flying around your laboratory when using it's heater, you'll love it.

this cheap china garbage unit has a MAJOR FLAW - using the heater, even at moderate level, causes the top white surface to crack/chip and fly off.
