Good System without the monthly fee.
J Gregory Smith•April 29, 2018
My 80+ year old mother-in-law needed a panic button system that did not require a monthly fee to help her in the case she fell and needed assistance. She has a bad hip that can fail her now an again and since we live several miles away, if she pushes the button it consecutively calls five numbers on the list until someone answers. Four family numbers and 911 at the end if family fails to answer. It also receives calls from her land line. She wears the button on a lanyard all the time she is home. Since she is not very mobile, this is all the time, now. This system is just shat she needed for her situation.
Works Absolutely Great!

Bought this for my 80 yr old mom who has had a string of falls over the past few years. It arrived timely and well packaged. It was easy to setup and came with 2 re-chargeable batteries for the pendant so you always have one fully charged battery ready when the current one runs out. Already a month has passed and we haven't had to change the battery in the pendant yet. This is a great alternative to a full time medical pendant service which is far more expensive. The programmability is one of the best features. You can program up to 4 numbers to call (plus 911) when the pendant button is pushed. You can also opt not to program 911 into the system. This is an absolutely great product for those who don't want or need a full-time medical pendant service. I highly recommend it.
5 stars.

Had to plug in and charge batteries, after that it was an easy set up. We are using 911 only for 80 year old grandma who stays alone. Tested it by calling non emergency central dispatch.. They agreed to test. so called 911 and reception is very clear. Address and name came up on their end since we used a land line. We are very relieved to have this in place.
Just buy it

Better than advertised... I had to get a system for my 85+ year old mother. After talking with lots of people, salespeople and reading multiple "best of" articles, I decided on the ATS system. Critical in my decision was the consideration of coverage: Did I want a cellular type device, usable away from home or just a home unit. I decided on the home-only model because when away from home, she will get rides and be with other people.
The unit itself requires that you have a home phone, but in our case, I found out that the cost of cable plus phone is often the same price or lower than cable alone. Once you have a phone line, installation of the unit consists of plugging the phone line into the unit and plugging the phone into the unit. You then can program the unit to auto dial up to four numbers before calling 911. In my case, I programmed in my number and then my brother's number. When my mother holds the front button for two seconds, the unit beeps, plays the dial tone and dials my number. When I pick up my phone, the device announces that this is an emergency call and that I can either dial '5' to talk with the person or hang up. It will then call my brother and then 911.
The next step was to test it around the house and the yard (my mom gets the mail out of the mailbox in the morning). The unit claims a 600 foot range, but this can dramatically be reduced by walls, chimneys, cars, etc. In actual testing on a 100' x 100' lot, I was able to use the unit at the edge of adjoining properties without problem. I was also worried about battery life. The unit comes with two batteries for the pendant which are supposed to last up to 4 months each. The second battery goes into the base unit itself to be charged. I had my mother change the battery and she did so without any problem.
I also found out that if the house phone rings while she is in the yard, she can pick up the phone from the pendant and talk and listen from the pendant. Folks: this is REALLY important if you don't want your eighty year old sprinting inside to the phone and getting injured on the way.
Bottom line: I works better than advertised and is very low cost long-term (no monthly fees).

Great product. No landline, no problem!

I received the product and the instructions were clear, leading to an easy setup. Range around my 2500sqft home was totally fine and volume from the remote unit was great for my mother in law.
Important note for those of you who do not have a landline, I know that there is a recommendation to use a cell phone bridge device. I tried this route initially but had problems with the system not working appropriately. For example, when I tested the dialing, it dialed the numbers, but when the recipients hit 5 from their phones, the system did not recognize it and proceeded to hang up and dial the next number in the line. Also, the pre recorded message would start too early and the recipients would only hear part of the message if the phone range too long before pickup. We were using an iPhone with T Mobile Service so I am not sure if that contributed to the issue.
So I returned the bridge device and bought a VOIP bridge instead: https://www.amazon.com/OBi200-1-Port-Adapter-Support-Service/dp/B00BUV7C9A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501478690&sr=8-1&keywords=obihai200
This works perfectly and I would recommend this solution instead for all of you folks without landlines.
