and they all play nicely together. But this doesn't
Kathryn DrummondOctober 27, 2016
I went for this set vs other track manufacturers for 2 reasons: 1) it seemed to have a relatively large percentage of longer straight track, and 2) I wanted to see if the V-shaped piece would fit the Thomas Kanpford station (nothing seems to, this included). I have track from Brio, Obrium, and Thomas already, and they all play nicely together. But this doesn't. The mill quality is noticeably rougher, and the fit with the other brands is frustratingly tight. I'd rather not spend time sanding. Also, all the pieces don't necessarily seem to comply with wooden railway standards. for example, the curved section of one of the 3 way splits doesn't make the full 45 degrees, and the height of one of the ascender (sp?) tracks seems off. If I hadn't dumped the whole box into our collection and get it all mixed up before working with the track and discovering these things, I would be returning it. Obrium track is in a similar price range and strikes me as much better quality, without shelling out for Brio track.
Great fit with Thomas the Train Wooden Railway

My daughter had the official "starter oval" Thomas track and needed more track to get creative with (and me too!) and we found this set for her birthday. It's perfect!! There are other sets about the same price but this one has so many fun features! You have a small hill, a railroad crossing with lifting arms for trucks to pass through, and a perfect mix of curves and switch tracks. We have made so many different configurations in only a few days & it's endless hours of fun for the whole family! Really recommend for any train lover!
Prepare for only half the tracks to fit together

Clearly this company has a "Good Enough" standard. Meaning if you can force the pieces together and can't get them apart, well then, it's "good enough" to sell. Theres a reason I haven't heard of this company before I purchased an expansion pack from them and there's a reason they're one of the cheapest. I thought there is no way someone is going to mess up a simple wooden track, however about 1/3 - 1/2 have to be forced together and forced apart. A couple of the pieces I can't even get separated.
These are fun. Great size and my grandkids enjoy them

These are fun. Great size and my grandkids enjoy them. The only issue is that they are somewhat difficult to assemble, the hole and the slot have to be lined up perfectly. The round knubs broke off the first day. The kids got frustrated with the ease of assembly and that is why it is not a 5 star. Also more curved connector pieces are needed so a smaller building space can be utilized.
Very nicely made wooden track - but as another reviewer pointed ...

Very nicely made wooden track - but as another reviewer pointed out - not nearly enough curved track! Also, this track is NOT compatible with the Ikea brand stuff. However, I prefer this brand over the Ikea stuff any day, it doesn't have those silly plastic connectors. Overall it's very nice track, my 2 year old son does quite well with it. The only real gripe I have (and this is generic to all wooden train sets) is that the two-piece bridges don't stand up without supports, and the supports don't have a way to snap into place. Only the M&D stuff does, but it's apparently not compatible either.
