Very happy with the vanilla beans
Clayton CoxJune 23, 2017
Very happy with the vanilla beans. Beans are between 5-7" with most closer to 5.5". They look very similar to beans I saw in the grocery store spice aisle selling 2 for $20. As stated these are a bit dry but have good fragrance. I'm using for extract and it's coming along nicely with great color after 10 days. Would definitely buy again.
You'll never buy supermarket vanilla again!

Absolutely beautiful beans, but the package directions leave a little to be desired when making vanilla. The instructions give directions in ounces, whereas my vodka bottle is in ml--I know, I know, basic math, but please! I dragged out my scale & weighed the 25 bean package, which was about 3 ounces. I then got out my 4 cup pyrex measuring cup and checked where 750 ml fell, which is about 3 cups, or 24 oz--not rocket science, I realize. So, if you are making vanilla from a regular sized bottle of vodka, you need 25 beans. Other than my challenges with math, these make lovely vanilla, and you'll never go back to the lousy stuff from the supermarket again!
Good Beans for Vanilla Extract
TowandaMay 22, 2017
My homemade bottle of vanilla extract is just about ready! These vanilla beans smell just like the vanilla extract sold in the grocery store. They are indeed VERY dry. Nothing like the vanilla beans from Madagascar. They came vacuum sealed, with instructions on how to make vanilla extract. Super easy!
Great start to my vanilla

Just as described, they say don't try to slice for a reason you could cut yourself. They're very dry a little hard & pungent. I day and already there's some color. Read up most vanilla recipes take 6 months it said 1 but it's Nov. And I'm just getting ready to bottle, nice and dark has a nice smell taste. And they add color to the store stuff so you can't compare them. This is a coffee syrup bottle that was clear, I kept them in a closet.
Highly recommend for extract

Yes they are very dry but within 24 hours of making extract the bottle was dark. Very impressed nicely fragrant. Will order again
