Bought for making Vanilla extract. Have always bought this brand, they are always great. Great extract, great beans, great smell. I do have to say that the Madagascar beans are a less sweet fruity, more I almost want to say, smoky flavor Vanilla in my experience so I use it for cooking and the Tahitian for baking but that is just preference, just something I thought I'd mention. Honestly can't complain, love them. 100% recommend trying both.

Extremely satisfied with these beans! I slit them lengthwise, put them in the vodka, and by the end of the day, I could see color change in the vodka. Within two days, it's nice and dark. Usually it takes a month or more to get this kind of result. I'll definitely purchase more of these! The picture I've attached is day two.

MADE VANILLA EXTRACT WITH THESE SEVERAL TIMES. THEY ARE A GOOD VALUE AND MAKE GREAT TASTING VANILLA. I USE ABOUT 1 WHOLE BEAN PER OUNCE OF VODKA AND CUT INTO 1 INCH PIECES AFTER MAKING A SLIT DOWN ONE SIDE OF THE BEAN. I've tried rum too but think vodka makes better vanilla. I tried Grade B beans and have moved to using Grade A, it is woth the difference.

I received 29 lovely, fragrant, and pliable vanilla beans, very nicely vacuum sealed. I split 9 of them to replenish my ongoing "fifth" bottle of vanilla that has been in existence for about 6 years. I sealed the remaining 20 for later use. First time buying this brand, and quite happy with the quality, aroma, and value of my beans. I sent the same package to my daughter, to keep her batch going, as well. Some might think it's controversial, but I use spiced rum to make my vanilla. It gives it a little head start, for the same cost as vodka or white rum, and we love the results! (Sam's Club Member's Mark Spiced Rum is what I use. Very good flavor, very reasonable cost! )
