For about $13, you can have a cheap way to record composite and S-Video sources. The included software is lackluster, but it is possible to use OBS Studio instead with some fiddling. The video quality is less than desirable, however, with jailbars and rainbow-banding being more visible than they should. It also does not support 60 fps, causing combing artifacts in interlaced video to be visible without a deinterlacing method.
If you can get past the flaws though, you'll have a cheap way to record!

I'm at the first step in designing a 4-camera car curb viewing system and I wanted to use my Android phone (MotoZ Play Droid) as a camera monitor to allow me to test different camera locations. This works well when connected to my phone with a USB type C OTG cable and one of the many EasyCap apps you can find online. It has the UTG 007 chip which I can confirm is compatible with my phone.

Works out of the box Windows 10 64bit. No need to use the driver disk Windows 10 will install OEM driver. Does not work with Sony Vegas 14 pro capture software. The software TVR 2.5 is included, and captures very well (If your looking for the key it is printed on the disk). Captures in mpeg1,MPEG,2,AVI,DVD. Did my VHS and video 8. I did not try the s-video just the RCA plugs. Don t be fooled by the ones that cost more, almost all are the same with different names on them. Also, remember VHS is VHS no matter what you use. And, of course once you convert to AVI or what ever you choose you can then use Vegas or your favorite video editing software. 8hrs straight and the thing did not even get hot. The photo shows it works windows 10. Also, you can use VLC or OBS Studio (both open source and free)if you do not like the included software.
Converted all my VHS tapes into MP4 onto my computer.

This did exactly what I bought it for. I wanted to convert all my home videos and wedding videos on VHS tapes onto my computer into an MP4 format. This helped me do that perfectly. You will need to download a free software online that will show and capture the video from the VHS onto your computer. There are videos and links on youtube that show you how to do that with free software. This is the only thing you actually have to buy.
Can't get it to work with standard apps.

Doesn't work for me. I've tried this on two different Windows 10 systems. I installed the drivers and the included application. If I run the included app, it shows video from the EasyCap, so I know all the hardware is working. But no other application detects the device (i.e. the built-in Microsoft Camera app, VideoLAN, and Adobe Premiere don't see any camera device on the system). Since I want to use this for live web streaming, the included app is not sufficient.
