Great knife, great steel, and the Damascus blade looks fantastic!
Ed Hofman✓ Verified Purchase•March 18, 2018
This is a great mini EDC pocket knife! This knife is functional, as well as great looking. The VG-10 (upper high-end steel) steel blade stays sharp, though I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to sharpen it because of the Damascus pattern in the blade, which was one of the main reasons I purchased this knife. I have a fairly large collection of folding, assisted-open, thumb-stud and regular pocket knives, but I prefer the "minis". They fit nicely in your pocket without being in the way, or too heavy. The blade, at over an inch in length, is still very useful for such a small tool. It is almost as wide as it is long, and is very sharp! The blade can be easily deployed with one hand, with a bit of practice, so it's very convenient when your other hand is occupied. My only negative comment would be that it is a bit "thick", but that does not take away from its overall appeal. The rosewood handle looks very nice, like the old-fashioned pocket knives used to look like. I have another "mini" with a titanium frame and VG-10 steel blade, but the Kubey still looks far nicer! For the price, you won't be disappointed!
Collector is very impressed

Love this knife. I am a collector of small pocket knives and just bought this one because it looked cool and was a great price. This thing feels fantastic. Right out of the box smooth action and feels very solid and quality made with some good weight to it. It looks nice and the blade is sharper than most other knives at this price. Only draw back it looks so nice don't want to carry it everyday because I can be hard on my knives.
Sharpened up to a very good edge. I would have given five stars

Solid, compact, well built. Sharpened up to a very good edge. I would have given five stars, but the keychain holes were not very useful, not working well with many connectors.
On one side, wood scales were not quite perfectly joined. Usually never notice it, but not quite perfectly joined with the metal.

Very good knife for the price

THis review is for the Polished steel blade version of the knife. I got two of these and both are of identicle build quality. The overall fit and finish while not perfect are actually very good for a knife in this proce range. All metal parts have been polished to a high degree. Not mirror polish but not far from that. The blade is very sharp right out of the box. The action of the knife is smooth and tight. There is no play in the blade either opened or closed. I was concerned a little that the lock in the open position was not engaged enough to assure that blade would not close, but it is actually working just fine. This is also something that would be easy to adjust if it ever became an issue.
I really like the size of this knife when folded. It is quite small year the design is such that even in my admittedly very large hands I can get a good grip on the knife and it is easy to control the cut. In fact this knife is small enough that it can be hard like a pencil for detailed cutting along lines and that sort of work. While the knife does not lock in the closed position the spring is strong enough that there is no concern that it could open in your pocket. Over all I would give this knife 5 stars and would challenge anyone to find a knife at this price that is put together this well. I would recommend this to a friend, and in fact I plan to give one of these as a gift.

Great pocket knife

This review is of the plain steel (not damascus).
What a great knife. It feels great in your hand, can be flipped open with your thumb, and is very sharp. Been carrying it in my pocket non-stop since I got it and have used it to cut open dozens of items from plastic container packaging to christmas presents etc....works great every time because it fits in your hand so well. Smooth when closed so it feels good in your pocket. It positively closes so it takes a little effort to open...it won't fall open in your pocket.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a sharp, good looking, useful pocketknife.
