Works great one time, til you have to move it

When I received these, I was so pleased. Tying up tomatoes became a snap. I loved them. In 5 minutes, I had 2 dozen tomatoes tied up...til the tomato stalks got bigger and I tried to relocate the clip further up my stalk.

These clips easily fall apart very easily if you twist or torque the clip in any way. So for me, it pretty much was a one time use product in the large clip size. The wire is the only thing keeping the clip together and if you open it too wide and flex it just slightly, the wire falls off and the clip breaks into it's 3 components. I had to open the clip wide to try to remove the clip from my tomato stalks. As the stalks grew and became thicker, it took up most of the open space of the large clip as it grew. Most clips I tried to move up my stalk fell apart. I think it probably works great on stems that don't change size over the season (like maybe flowers), but for tomatoes, its been too difficult to remove the clips intact after use. You may consider this as a user error, but for $16 for a bag of clips, these things should be idiot-proof. (And I work in the plastics industry so I know how much something like this costs to manufacture)

I guess it is possible to re-assemble the product, but it is not easy. This product needs a re-design. I bought this at the same time as I bought a roll of garden velcro for a lot less. I switched over to the velcro as my plants grew.

That being said, I love the concept and it is a very handy gardening product. For the price, I expected more. I would give the product 5 stars if it didn't come apart so easily.
A GREAT INVENTION!!

All I can say is WHERE HAVE THESE BEEN ALL MY LIFE! I am obsessed with these clips now and use them everywhere in the garden, but most of all, they have been a lifesaver supporting my sunflowers AND my indeterminate tomato vines which are now probably 10 feet tall! I wish there was a medium size..as sometimes the small are too small and the large are too large.......however I will continue to buy year after year!!
Easy to use, easy to reposition.

Great solution for trellising raspberry canes. However, open the clips carefully, since the spring is sometimes stronger than the tabs you press to open the clip. A couple of mine broke off.

There are 2 different sizes, which I am using to attach my raspberry canes to metal fencing as a trellis. The narrow part of the opening grabs the wire fence neatly, while the larger opening gives the canes plenty of freedom for movement and growth. These are a much more flexible solution for tying up the canes, since I can easily reposition or remove the clips throughout the season.
Makes staking plants so much easier.

My mother gave me 2 packages of these for my new veggie garden. I went thru the 2 bags in a heartbeat and needed a bunch more. These clips make it so much easier to stake your tomatoes and peppers than traditional ties. As the plants grew I was able to quickly reposition the clips as needed. No cutting and tying. Just pinch and clip. Now I'm ready for next year.
terrific just what I needed especially on my pepper plants

terrific just what I needed especially on my pepper plants. I believe that the spring clips are well made , but maybe the area could be a bit larger for tomato plants , and the clipping device coud be larger, but all in all the are very ell made and and asset for any gardner.
